"until after the conference championships."
interesting ... let's think about that ... if it that is the case - for a genuine reason .. why?
there have been a number of moves made already - but unless I missed something, none of those moves had a hard link to conference championship games - the team and the candidate were unencumbered by further on-field obligations (quasi-exception = Kirby Smart & that is now in a weird sort of we all know - but can't say state)
If "until after the conference championships." is on the critical path for some prospects - it sure is not for Al Golden, it is not for Greg Schiano and it is not for several others.
Who is currently is a position where he can't / won't consummate a deal?
Either because of Conference Champs - or a final game -
- Mario Cristobal , Alabama - same situation as Kirby Smart
- Matt Rhule, Temple
- Dino Babers, Bowling Green
- Jeff Brohm, Western Kentucky
- Willie Fritz, Georgia Southern
- Charlie Strong / Texas chain reaction (Texas vs Baylor this weekend)
There are probably several other names that could be added to this list -
So for the anti-Golden folks this reasoning might hold some hope ... but might make the no-to-Mario folks concerned.
