I think we would be ahead of the 3 bottom teams, UCF, SMU, and Tulane, though our beating Tulane would be far from a sure thing. I would put us in the middle tier with UConn, East Carolina, and Tulsa, but likely at the bottom of that tier. UConn Is much better on D than we are, and Tulsa would probably put up 50+ points against RU (they scored 38 at Oklahoma and 42 vs Memphis). Obviously, Houston, Navy, Memphis, and Temple are the top tier. Temple is probably 4th amongst those teams, and they womped PSU, so enough said there.

Pretty much lower and lower after each game. The American has some pretty poor teams at the bottom and we are certainly playing at their level.

Well Rutgers was just ranked in the 25 Worst Teams in America.
So we now join the other AAC Doormats in this Ranking : SMU, Tulane, and UCF .
We would be in the bottom third of the AAC.
Not only has Temple blown by us, we are now worse than UCONN. :weary:

Right about Uconn level. Lower Mid of the AAC. You can't use one or two scores to judge. If you use Rutgers 7 point loss to Michigan State and last second loss to Wash St as the barometer we would be judged higher.

Also if Temple, Memphis and Houston had a steady diet of Big 10 games, they would probably not be ranked, well maybe Houston would!

Hard to tell, because as Temple and Memphis showed you can get up and peak for one big non-conference game. But to stand up to the rigors of a Big 10 schedule is an entirely different thing.

If we played Temple's schedule I'm thinking we'd probably be 5-5, maybe 6-4.

I still think the quality of the old Big East was much better than many here give it credit for being. The AAC looked like it was going to be a step down, but the new teams have been better than expected. Schools like Memphis are light years ahead of where they were before joining the AAC.

This year's RU team would definitely be in the bottom third imo.

We destroyed North Carolina last year so we would be on the top of the ACC at 9-1 playing for the ACC Championship.
