Since Western Pennsylvania produces a number of quality football recruits, many B1G football programs have come to Western Pennsylvania and Pittsburgh to recruit.
I have never seen data regarding which programs offered and what success they have had in getting Western Pa recruits.
Ryan Donnelly recently compiled 15 years of data on this subject. Recruits chosen where from Rivals 100 (dating back to 2002) and Rivals 250 (dating back to 2006).
What surprised me was that other than Penn State no other B1G schools (or other national football programs) had a lot of success in recruiting the WPIAL's best.
Some examples: OSU offered 20 got 3, Michigan offered 29 got 4, MSU offered 12 got 1, Rutgers offered 11 got 0, Alabama offered 10 got 0, Florida offered 13 got 0, Florida State offered 10 got 1,
WVU offered 31 got 1.

Since Rutgers is doing well in recruiting New Jersey, there is no need to come to Western Pa.;)
