Agreed. And Russo seeing that Flood is a stubborn mule who will stick with Laviano no matter what, will decommit.

He looked ok/good on many plays in terms of handling "game action play", but......his passes tend to be s l o w out of hand, and s l o w
getting to receiver. What was that commercial years ago "I've got the slows", kid walking around real slow, then drinks some milk, and boom, up to speed. Maybe if he drank more milk.
Lot of good points here, especially Meyer not being afraid to bench his NC winning QB after two picks. Unfortunately, our head coach has not once in the three years, two games that is his lifetime sum total of head coaching experience shown any ability to re-evaluate his decisions and take steps to correct his own mistakes. It's really not his fault, he has no experience and just can't do this job right.
Maybe if Lavs had gotten some playing time in real games last year, he'd be better now. Good coaches tend to think forward like that sometimes. Now, we're back exactly where we were 3 years ago with Coach "Gary is our starter" flushing another year for "On the Job Training" while a more ready player rides the pine.
Les Miles won a Sugar bowl playing both Jamarcus Russell and Matt Flynn at QB in just about every game. He wan a BCS national championship the next year doing the same thing with Matt Flynn and Ryan Perriloux.
Flood is done at the end of the year anyway, so just play both guys and let the next coach pick.

His personel decisions, have always been puzzling to me, how hard is it to put your best players on the field, Flood does not do that!!!
Unfortunately, I agree.
And as long as Flood is head coach, if/when Retig gets in a game here, he will not be put in a position to succeed or to highlight his skills. Period.
