Here are the 14 wrestlers who look to be going to Wilkes Open 12/22.

Apparently my screenshot is not showing up so I will type the names when I get into my office. Odd I can see the screenshot but after I post i can’t see it any longer.

These are the guys I see listed on Rutgers Trackwrestling.com profile.
Jake Benner
John Ciaramella
Christian Colucci
Matt Correntti
Nick Denora
Brett Donner
Alex Esposito
William Janzer
Kyle Lightner
Pete Lipari
Shane Metzler
Anthony Olivieri
Jordan Pagano
Malcolm Robinson

But so far listed on the official tournament registration list are
Robinson
Lipari
Ciaramella
Esposito
Lightner

Guessing none of these guys are going to Midlands...really was hoping Janzer would make it out there unattached. Really need a good tourney for Correnti to start a turnaround going into B1G season.

Lightner looks a lot trimmer.

With Colucci being a RS Jr, he will be eligible to wrestle next season, which means with Lightner going down, instead of up in weight, the staff really needs to find a 285 for 2 seasons down the road. The top 285 gus in NJ is already committed away (Fernandnes to Cornell), Sistrunk of Bound Brook probably best next in state, but he's not even ranked in top 20 of 285 by Intermat or flow. The number 12 ranked guy is an uncommitted kid from Erie Prep in Pa., not sure if the staff is looking at him. Also the top returning 220 kid in NJ is Zach DelVecchio, but last I heard he wants to play Football in College , but that info was from last spring. Also , not sure exactly how big he is (other than his weight class). Coach G and staff need to find a quality 285 this for this class.

First step is to get a legit big guy at the RTC.

Don’t know about the whole team but hearing that LiPari is going to both.

Villarreal from Gilroy. Yes

I think he was at the match against Rider.

The problem with HWT is if you don't get the #1 or #2 kid they will never be worth the $ you've to pay.Thats the problem with all these so called national tournaments and 5 ranking services now everyone wants $ and with 9.9 not enough to go around. The
#6-#10 HWT wants 75% and they will be lucky to be .500 in the Big 10

Neither Billy Smith or DJ Russo were very high ranked kids coming out of HS, both were blood round NCAA qualifiers for RU. Not sure how much schollie money they earned. Schollie money for Olympic sports athletes seems like a closely guarded secret compared to Football and Basketball where it is well known who is on Schollie and who isn't, and there are no 'partial money' schollies, all are full scholarships. With Wrestling, Baseball, Soccer, seems the fans don't hear that info. Maybe for good reason (so athletes and their families don't get mad).

With a lot of American , and Maryland wrestlers there, it seems similar to the Patriot Open at George Mason a few weeks ago.

Maybe not the thread for it, but was it a knee surgery that Ashnault had last season? I remember reading somewhere that many don't perform the same after this surgery, but he seems as good as ever so far.

Shoulder surgery was the big injury, he did have knee surgery as well(but it was just to clean some things up)

I was more or less just giving you the answer you hear when you talk to coaches about HWT.Rutgers went hard after Schultz and lost him to ASU.Now they're looking for the right fit it's the hardest weight to recruit in the country which means not much roster depth at the weight so it's important they get the right kid

HWT is going to be very stacked talent wise up top in a few years... GaBle, Schultz , And a couple other really good Hwt coming up..

Anyone know if/why Kanniard isn’t wrestling in the Beast? I can’t find him in the brackets.

Metzlar, the top seed at 125, advances 19-5

Colucci , also top seed (I think, lol) wins by Pin in his pigtail. Not sure why a top seed would have the only pigtail.

Janzer has good competition today in Preisch and Weiler from Lehigh.
