Wrestling - George Mason Patriots Open

At least Robinson will not be intimidated by Terao, he wrestles Suriano every da y

HOw hard is that ankle return to the mat that Shoop does?
Seems like he just controls the mat with that.

For those in the know, How has the red shirt season been for the development of Aguilar and Robinson? How does Aguilar do against Metzlars and how does Robinson do against anyone not named suriano.

What happened to Janzer, supposed to be on mat 3, did he Med Forfeit out?

A good day for Aguilar, Robinson, and Janzer. These kids will really benefit from a complete redshirt season. They are not ready for prime time. But should show well next year. Have a lot of potential. Not sure about Donner and Benner. They need work and heart. Too bad Santos is out for the season. Brenner could have benefitted from a shirt.

Wonder if any starters or bench wrestlers will go unattached at Midlands.

Expect to see the redshirts who can afford the trip. Expect to see the max permitted of attached guys. Our top 3 redshirts would benefit from the experience. Lots of open slots among starters. So it a good tournament to decide roster going into the new year.

The wrestlers pay all expenses themselves ? At least today they probably did it all in 1 day, by driving early and returning right after, Midlands would require 1 or 2 nights in a hotel.

Benner comes in 6th, Eckell comes in 7th, Ciaramella 7th.
Rest apparently DNP. I thought Donner would do better. His conditioning is off, he has potential, imo.

Nah he’s a depth guy only. Wish he was but think he’s proven he can’t be counted on and will never be an impact guy. I don’t say that to be mean.

Next year should be fun. Wil stimk to not have Ashnault but should have some interesting battles and some real potential. Really hope we can sure up 197 and 285. Otherwise I don’t think we are in bad shape, we will have depth and quite a bit of starting experience.
125-Aguilar (Metzler)
133-Suriano (Robinson)
141-Aragona? If not a RS (Lipari/Cleary)
149-MVB?, Santos?, Benner?
157- Glasgow
165-Grello if he can drop, Kanniard RS
174-Scott/Turley if no RS
184-Janzer
197-Correnti/Wright
285-Colucci

Or Correnti rounds into the form he showed as a freshman at 197.
I'd love to see it, but I'm getting more concerned by the day that he's a tweener...too small for heavy and too big for 197. Its absolutely ludicrous that there isn't a 220 lb weight class in between 197 and HVY. Correnti would be a stud at a 220 lb weight class.

When were the weight classes defined, the 1850s? They don't reflect the larger bodies of the population.
