From the time he started his shooting motion, everything was clean. Catching the pass was the violation.
They need to bring back Bardo. He would be indignant about it.
In the one closeup from behind the sideline ref, you can tell his focus is not on the sideline, as his head was facing up.
Cream, Goodman, Bilas all spoke up for us. This can't be ignored. Knowing Pike, he is not going to pick a fight with the conference over it.
I took pics of the shooter and he’s 100% out but not sure how people are saying the passer was from across the court. Would need a sideline cam and an haven’t seen that anywhere
Why even have a replay system if these idiots don’t use it?? We sit through minutes and minutes of reviews over stupid shi* in other games and these morons don’t review the last play.
If it’s within the rules for a player to intentionally position themselves out of bounds, and then jump on the court undefended to get a pass, that’s a move every player should make all game long.
ya just have a guy on the bench, stand up and catch a pass!!!
this. so dumb. we can review flagrant fouls and if someone stepped on three line during game but you can’t review if player stepped out of bounds on last play? Makes no sense
Simply, we got the shaft once again. How does this keep happening.
Roger Ayers is that ACC or Big East ref that always screws us in games vs both conferences. Kipp Kissinger is also an ACC ref

There is no question it was a violation. He's probably the furthest out of bounds player to ever come back and hit a shot in the history of basketball

It's a buzzer shot making the entire play "reviewable" (I believe), hence, It should have been overturned. Period.

they claim its not reviewable but if it was Coach K or Calipari or Izzo you dont think its reviewed. Pike had to commend the respect and attention of the refs before they left, otherwise its over..move on

Can some computer nerds from Rutgers just hack the results of this game somewhere and remove those three points and change it to a Rutgers win.
That has to be our best and most just recourse at this point.

Bardo and Pizzo on Big Live just said it was clear (they said it would have taken 5 seconds) that Holdens shot would have been disallowed IF IT WAS REVIEWED. They said the victory should have an asterik on it.

so blame our coach as usual--- do you ever get tired of blaming our coaches??? since when do refs only have to do their job if a coach gets respect or attention , that's bullshyt and you know it---they ****ed up and its Pike's fault ???

Forget Carino. We need the NY Post and Daily News to blow this up and make it a major story and put pressure on the conference.
In the end this is a colossal miss by all 3 refs. one of them should have seen one of the violations (dribblers foot on the sideline or shooter not establishing on the court}. However as rules go the only way either is reviewable is if a whistle was blown first. They could then check to see if they have it right. Essentially the refs can’t go fishing for a missed call by reviewing a play unless a call is already made. This is stupid in a game deciding situation and has to change. Allow all aspects of a game deciding play to be reviewable … call it the Rutgers rule!
RUChoppin that's wrong. If a player steps out of bounds by his own free will, he cannot be first player to touch ball once returning to court. It is a black and white rule. He was not pushed out of bounds. He wasn't watching the floor and ran over there by his own free will.
Rutgers must at least file a challenge with conference, even if it goes nowhere. Whole thing is preposterous.
