RU wrestling dual rankings moved up one spot to #13 in the country. Right behind Minnesota and Illinois in 7th in the B1G...with both having challenging matches this weekend we could jump back to #11 and 5th in the B1G after the Northwestern match. If things stay the same we could be looking at a match vs South Dakota State for the National Dual. If we jump a few B1G teams we could end up facing a team like Mizzou.

I will be extremely surprised if we don't draw Edinboro for the National Duals. They try to limit travel, so it just makes the most sense.

The NWCA website is listing an event on Feb. 19th at 2 p.m. at "Lehigh location". Lehigh website shows the same. Warm up the bus??? $$$$

That's awesome! Not far from where I am, so I'm there with the family!

Lehigh will definitely host one of the Dual Bowls (Big Ten hosted last year, non big Ten hosts this year), but it's not determined who they'll wrestle. We probably won't know until after Sunday.

RU could finish as high as 4th potentially in the B1G with a win over NW and depending on the outcomes of the last weekend of the regular season, or finish as low as 7th. I can't see NW beating us on Senior Sunday short of the entire team getting food poisoning, so doubt we know who we face in the National Dual until Sunday night at the earliest after the outcomes of the other matches.

except for the #1 vs #2 PSU v OKSt match up, don't expect the other dual bowls to match up to conference standings or rankings. they'll try to match the other teams up with whatever brings in the biggest crowds and saves the most on travel costs. all that matters is being top 8 in the B1G. and since they don't wrestle a true round robin of duals, even that is up for debate.

Going off the top of my head I think Trackwrestling has them this year.
all depends on who hosts. school that owns the gym controls the media rights, which is why the Midlands are on the Big Ten Network (held at Northwestern).

wrestling media rights are almost always on the lowest tier for P5 conferences, which usually have at least 3. ACC (and the MAC, which is not P5) bundle theirs to ESPN, which is where you can see most of their matches. Pac12 and Big10 have their own networks. Big 12 doesn't have them bundled with anything so schools are free to make deals as they want, hence OKSt and Flo (also the auxiliary wrestling members like SDSt and Wyoming). EIWA and EWL are wrestling only leagues so they do what they want with their rights. The Patriot League and Ivy League have their own networks that the teams use, but the conference tournament made it's own deal with Flo.

Track may be able to get Lehigh or Cornell, although they have been using the Patriot League (free) and Ivy League (pay) networks. No idea who the SoCon champ will be or how it'll be streamed. The wildcard team will probably be an ACC team so that would be ESPN3

Just did some searching.

nice! good find. I guess Missouri doesn't have their wrestling rights tied into ESPN.

do you know if it'll be behind Track's paywall? I'm assuming so but I didn't see that specified in the article.

None of the NJ Group dual tourny will be streamed. But Phillipsburg sent their own crew.
On now, 2pm semi final - P'burg vs Kingsway:

South Plainfield vs Delsea Final going on now as well. S Plainfield has a younger DelVecchio , a soph at 220 very good, and a younger Painton, Jacob Painton 132

Ok...so hopefully we get the word tonight that we face Lehigh. Ideally Friday or Saturday night as I want to go to the home lax opener vs Army on Saturday afternoon. Easy drive up 78 West if its Saturday night or NE Extension from Philly if its Friday night.

Kingsway is my alma mater (and I taught there for a few years before switching careers). They've got a very lopsided lineup. Lots of bonus points going to be going both directions, but I'm thinking P'burg wins here.

What's going on with Delsea vs South Plainfield? Paulsboro and Collingswood were both the dominant programs from my neck of the woods in South Jersey.

All different groups. Usually it's Paulsboro Group 1, Collingswood Group 2, Delsea Group 3, Kingsway/Hammonton/Clearview/etc Group 4.

FINAL at 170

South Planfield forfeits at 220 to Delsea's Bradley Dobzanski

Delsea takes 20-18 lead.

SP bumps up Zach DelVecchio to 285 to take on Delsea's Jake Halloway, which is going on now

DelVecchio leads 2-1 with 40 secs left in 1st

Rutgers, which finished 6-0 at home, will await its draw in the national duals, though Goodale said he is "90 percent" sure that it will be a visit to Lehigh next weekend.

I was wondering if someone can explain the dual nationals concept. Is this a team-level NCAA championship event? I know that individual wrestlers will be selected for NCAA championships .. but dual nationals?
