OT: Dry January

I normally do a dry February starting after the Superbowl so about 3 weeks. However, last Sunday night I realized I had caught the stomach flu thing. So I started it during the days of recovery. Food and drinks are not appealing still.
Anyway taking a break is a wise, healthy choice. After a week you start feeling a noticable difference and by the end most people lose weight, sleep better and look better.

I don't drink any non-alcohol "beers" however non-alcohol beers have improved dramatically in the last 5 years. New technology to remove alcohol especially by vacuum evaporation and filtration. So forget about O'Doul's and try anything from Athletic Brewery (leading the market by far in the East Coast ) or try two 0.0 entries that are raved about. Both Guinness and Heineken are the top of that category.
Non alcohol beer have grown at a rapid rate since the pandemic!

Surace is going to be a legit QB for us for years.

I agree with Lotus and use HS commits like Sit and Wimsatt along with LSU transfer Rettig as examples of the QBs we expected to be good ones, from the hype surrounding them , that just didn't make the grade

Hopefully the difference will be that this time we’re not throwing our guy into the fire. Plenty of time to develop. Let’s see what happens.

How lucky is Kyle Flood?

One thing with Coach Flood- as HC- hey may have been over .500 but he did fail here as a HC.
There were a lot of factors leading to that but the honest truth, he wasn’t ready but gave up. The 2nd part of that is what disappointed me most.
I really feel if he could have put away the noise created by JH and dug deep into himself, he could have succeeded. But in those last few years- he gave up and just collected a check and did anything JH wanted. And like it or not- Julie orchestrated the Dance Class/ Princeton scandal. He was just dumb enough to go along with it.

Here's your #1 NBA 2025 draft pick

Flagg seems to do it all and just turned 18 a month ago. I think he still needs to add muscle, which will happen, and I expect him to have a good NBA career, maybe great. Dylan I could see possibly being better but no guarantee, also needs to muscle up. Ace needs to get better with ball handling, driving and going left, a little harder to develop. If I am an NBA team definitely take Flagg over Ace. Flagg or Harper might depend a little on need.

OT: NFL 2025 Playoff Games Thread

Its not going to get better.
Streamers have mostly bland offerings and need sports - spesh football.
Streamers will pay over the top - a billion this year for Amazon.
This is why we need NFL 2.0 - B1G and SEC ready to roll
Make football great again - stick it to NFL
NFL sees fans as bacteria in a dish
It wont get better I agree. It's all about the $$$$
I think it was one of the past games from last year that did really well ratings wise that was only offered on a streaming service. The more this happens the more they will do it.
They talked of a Super bowl being played overseas happening in the future. That would suck!!

OT: Fascinating treatment for PTSD and addiction

Buddy I have a personal friend who died from Covid 19 at 47 years old who was a Joe Rogan Loyalist and swore up and down the vax was a hoax. Yea, it PISSES ME OFF when people cite Rogan for medical advice. You wanna listen to him about Culture, religion, politics, UFC, go for it, I listen to some. But he’s a flaming moron when it comes to healthcare.

But hey, if you’re the type to buy into that I think you should listen to Rogan for medical advice.

Rogan wasn’t a media agent for that at all, he actively talked about how he thought the vax was bs.

My friend was 47 years old, father of 2 teenagers. On his death bed confessed he WISHED he had gotten vaxxed, doctors after the fact talked about how his immune system was strong enough that with the vax there’s a 99% chance he’d still be here. Vaccines save lives.

But hey I think you should totally go out with the intention of proving me wrong, try Ibogaine yourself and report back your results. Oh wait, you wouldn’t need it yourself? You just wanna suggest something with the kind of heart risks it has for others but won’t try it yourself? Got it..

We don’t pursue Mexican street drugs for addiction treatment while abandoning the advice of western medicine.. unless of course you follow rogan
who says the vax would have saved his life? It doesn’t prevent you from getting it nor does it prevent transmission. As soon as you made this a racial thing you lost credibility

You may have PTSD from the death of your friend. I suggest you seek help for that, especially those modern pharmaceuticals. Watch out for the side effects that may include suicidal thoughts though; wouldn't want you offing yourself instead of contracting a heart murmur...

OT: Dry January

No, this is not a weather thread . Dry January means alcohol free for the month . It’s definitely a hot topic on social media .
Anyone doing this ?
I would say I am a social /moderate drinker. Every January I try to clean up my diet , get a little healthier after the holidays. Never did the “dry January” thing until now .
Not a lot of stuff on the social calendar either so it’s a good time of year for me to do it. I would never be able to do it in the summer or fall lol
I did miss having a a couple of cold ones during the CFP semifinals , but I survived !
It’s also very difficult watching our lousy basketball team without some alcohol 😆

you may want to look at some type of medication to relax a little more. You seem quite angry.
Now Joe Rogan is responsible for people dying from Covid because they didn’t get a vaccine that doesn’t really work? Silly
Again ill remind you that Rogan was just the media agent for these experts to discuss the concept of looking into this as a treatment with more studies and clinical trials.
