Anyone else notice Gavin?

He talked crap about Dylan. Guy was a loser helicopter dad who absolutely couldn't accept reality.

I still have a DM from him with some sort of defensive stats that were favorable to GG.
He asked me to post them since it wouldn't look good if he posted them himself.
Never realized it was his dad.

That was fun times though. So many "experts" on the board that just knew how instantly good he would be.

The final nail in GGs coffin, a positive skill evaluation from Shelby. Put a fork in the dork.
You’d prefer Hayes over 3 more years of him, or over either of the other 2, for just a year (or two with Derkack)? Not Shelby.

As a role player he’s more valuable than the short term guys. He wouldn’t have accepted the role so it’s a moot matter.

There’s no doubt that even in hindsight Pike would rather have GG for 3 years than 1 year of Martini or Hayes

Bo Bassett

I agree although I think Forrest is actually a better, more technical wrestler. If people want to make NIL donations that would have an immediate and long-lasting impact on a program = Bo + Jax. The ROI on those two is way better than Bailey/Harper especially because wrestlers aren’t one and done and do not require a full supporting cast. RU has a serious opportunity to be a top 5 program. Open the BM and FCA floodgates!
I doubt we have any shot at Jax.. saw him list his top schools and we weren’t on it.. just out of curiosity but what are some of Jax(he beat Stanich n who else?) and Bo’s best folkstyle wins ?(I know Bo beat Ash in fs)….

I don’t follow any college bball but it’s kinda crazy knowing that 2 out of the top 3 picks going to be drafted into the NBA is playing right here at RU..

GAME 18 NEBRASKA: Step by step, one by one

What a great write-up (as usual)...thank you! I just started some physical therapy recently and I quoted some words from your write-up in bold above- it is almost word-for-word what the therapists tell us walking wounded during the therapy sessions. Seems to be working out pretty good for me and Rutgers! Even 5-star athletes sometimes have to walk a little before they run, I guess. GO RU!!!!!!
thank you for reading and best of health to you!

Current B1G standings as of 1/17/25

there is a big drop off after the top 6 and those schools are several rungs better than the others and will compete for top 4 seeds in the NCAA tourney

The next 10 are hard to seperate. Still have to rate Maryland, Ohio State, UCLA, Nebby slightly ahead of RU right now because of overall record and resume non conference and all 4 are currently projected in the NCAA although that could change by next week. Indiana I believe is a fraud and they really need to win tonight

Dylan Grant !!!!

While Grants awesome, some of his value is simply just cause he fills a role we needed all season, a floor spacing wing. If we had someone competent for that role his value wouldn’t be so dramatic. But he’s doing well, even if he could stand to improve on D. He’s learning. Also, looks like his hands are starting to improve, which is a sign of someone when the game starts to slow down for them.

Did I spell it wrong?
a 2 game win streak isn’t a turnaround. too early for that declaration.

OT: Cold and Potentially Snowy Pattern Likely for Most of January

Looking ahead, it's not looking as good for snow for this area next week, mostly due to suppression of any storm systems to the south from the very strong high pressure/cold air we'll have in place for the brutal cold snap Monday through Friday. The CMC has the 1/22 system, which might hammer the SE US, just missing us, while the Euro and GFS have that system further offshore. Still time for adjustments for us or for a system to pop up on 1/24-25 as has been seen on a few long range model runs, as that's when the blocking relaxes and things start to warm up - and that regime has been associated with significant snowfalls in the past, so it ain't over yet.

But the 1/21-22 SE US storm is no longer in fantasy land as we're now within 4 days of the start of the event in Texas. The CMC has been on this for days and the Euro/GFS are also on it, so even the NBM model blend is showing a decent snowstorm. Houston's biggest snowfall ever was 20" in Feb 1895 and so was New Orleans's with 8.2", but they haven't had measurable snow in 15 years. Not a done deal yet, but it's looking like snow from TX to the Carolinas including much of the immediate Gulf Coast. Crazy for this region.
