Crossing fingers that SoCal might actually catch a break this weekend with some moderate rainfall in the neighborhood of 1/2" or so as per the NBM (model blend), below, and the NWS in LA. Won't put the fires out completely, but should greatly aid in allowing firefighters to hopefully get full control on them. This rain is still 4-5 days out, so not a guarantee, but model consensus is decent at this point. This is not one of those "Pineapple Express" big storms that Cali often gets in the winter, but it would be hugely welcome after getting no rain since October, when SoCal would normally expect 4-6" since then. Beyond this weekend, unfortunately, no significant rain is likely for the next 10-15 days, although that's far enough out that it could change.

SNY reporting that Jets are "very close" to naming Aaron Glenn HC of NYJ, and Lance Newmark GM of NYJ. Reportedly Jets have informed other candidates that they are going in a different direction.

He let me return to my car to get a baby bottle at a football game and that baby is now 36. Never forgot that. Wouldn't happen today
