If Pikiell gets fired, Schiano should go with him

I don't think you understand what I mean by "65th best" or whatever.

Imagine we get Steph Curry on our team, but he decides to never take any shot from closer than half court. Every few possessions he jacks it up from the backcourt but otherwise he refuses to shoot. Is he one of the best players in the Big Ten? Or one of the worst?

Bailey may well be in the top five most talented and/or skilled players in the conference, but he is not using his skills in a way that helps the team win. There are tons of players, multiple players on every team, who are playing within themselves and doing more to help their team win than Bailey is.

Now I will agree that other players are more comfortable in their roles and know how to maximize their skill set. I said in another thread, Caden Pierce is a better college player right now although ace is more talented. However I believe you are downplaying aces role on this team, besides his scoring he's the best rebounder on the team, playset center at times which allows Rutgers to switch all screens, good help defender..you guys are just looking to be negative about something because of the losses. Even if there were more wins some of you would still be doing this. It's fascinating the type of defeated, woe is me, negativity that message boards can spiral into. It's contagious I guess. Lol I try to only come on during the optimistic times. But it's Christmas, let's increase the positive thoughts..

Backlash has begun

It is a little ironic that people are bashing SEC for saying "wins don't matter" while those same people are also saying "anyone but Alabama or another SEC team".

Implying only the name matters and they don't want the same names.
Regardless of resume or wins.

It's the same argument.
Some people here might say that but most of the pundits don't. I don't. I said in one of these threads if Alabama had only lost 1 of Vandy or OU, they probably would have gotten in and I'd be okay with that. The fact that Alabama was even considered as a 3 loss team shows the respect they get and the SEC gets. No other 3 loss team anywhere is getting that consideration as an at large this year. Eventually, there will be years where 3 loss teams get im, it would've happened in the last 10 years of the CFP if it were 12 teams.

You can't just say automatically well sure they'd be better than IU or SMU when they they themselves lost to 2 teams (OU, Vandy) that weren't that good, one of which was a blowout to a hapless offensive team who couldn't find a decent qb.

Wins matter, losses matter, where you're playing, who you're playing, level of competition etc... it all matters and you get a picture of what the worthiness of a school in that given year is. If a SEC team is clear cut worthy, put them in and if not leave them out and if borderline maybe yes, maybe no. It shakes out how it shakes out. Tenn got blown out but I don't have complaints about them getting in.

The SEC gets special treatment as is, no need for them to get extra special treatment. That's what galls people and the talking down of other teams as if they walk on water compared to everyone else. There is no more Saban and talent is getting spread around more than ever, it's going to be hard to create those super teams of the past (frankly I wonder if Saban saw that coming with NIL/portal and that's why he retired) and playoff worthy teams can come from anywhere.

Miles ahead?? We just made the lowest tiered bowl game in the B1G. We had a soft schedule this year and were lucky to make a bowl game.

You are a miserable poster and should go follow Chris ash wherever he may be and get off these boards for your own health.
Bro also forgets that Greg has come no where near landing a top NFL pick let alone 2 out of the top 5 in a given year like we have in basketball… cue Ash providing reasons on why we got Ace and Harper and not giving Pike credit for any part of landing those two recruits.

Rutgers Athletics expected to sign new apparel contract with Nike

We pissed off adidas by having our five star basketball freshman wear Nike shoes. When our contract was up, they were out. Why the hell would they renew with us? Under armor wouldn't sign with us considering what we did to adidas.

Nike has no reason to sign with us considering they already have our two most valuable assets signed in two nba lottery picks and they have no competition with the other big companies. It's looking even worse for us considering we're probably not going to make the tournament.

We did it to ourselves. Awful leadership. They gambled hard on our basketball team and they've been a disappointment.
Nonsense our two studs came on campus in June, Adidas was already out long before then.

How does going 1-1 in the Big Ten Tournament matter?

Assuming we are playing in the 1st round (9-15 seeds), does beating an at- best fellow bubble team followed by another loss to a tournament team really move the needle much?

Even if we get a bye, wouldn't we just be beating the same bubble at beat team (9-15 team) then losing for a solid tournament team.

When people say "and 1-1 in the Big Ten Tournament" what are you imagining and how does it help?
Well it helps more than being 0-1 right?
Seems only 2-3 wins (followed with another loss) in the conference tournament does anything?
0-1 bad
1-1 neutral
2-1 or better good

is generally how I would see it

Doubling down on your bs, but now typing in bold caps. That will do it

What exactly is your point? That ace isn't good?
These types of posts are pure troll.. just being negative to be negative. No way anyone knows anything about basketball and after watching these games you conclude ace is the 65th best offensive player or whatever you're saying. Lol you can say he needs to learn to get to his spots, needs to look to pass more, more hustle more rebounding but to say he's the 65 th best player and quote some analytics is pure troll..they invented analytics for internet arguments..Give me a break, 65th best player? Are you a robot or can you use the eye test?

Player participation for The Rate Bowl?

These player insurance policies are tricky. You can get the either at a very low upfront cost or deferment.
The it is layered on payouts based on injury.
If a top pick gets injured and there is an obvious drop in round because of it, it is put into place. If a mid- lower round guy is injured- they may only cover if you go undrafted because of the injury.
Usually, if taken by a mid- lower round and you don’t get injured. But don’t get drafted- they do not require you to pay the premium.
If you do or don’t get hurt and get drafted, the premium is due upon signing your contract.
