If Pikiell gets fired, Schiano should go with him

ok. Haha.

I’ll give you the big disappointments in list form:
- start 3-0, huge win in Blacksburg, finish the season 4-5 against the weakest schedule we will likely ever have

- start the season with stadium attendance edging toward full, deliver two “farts in church” type home games (crushing all hope in front of a big crowd — an annual tradition) and by seasons end the stadium has 60%+ capacity

- look like the JV team against a team (the disgrace)

- lose on homecoming to give a team their first big ten win ever and make their qb look like John elway (the farce)

- lose a game with a walk off 40 yard TD throw

- zero juice. Zero hype. Zero nil hope. We aren’t in on any of the big play makers. We aren’t even in the conversation.

all crushing disappointments. This season was slightly bigger disappointment wise than 07 to me

Junior College may no longer count against 4-year eligibility limit

You clearly aren’t in youth sports or at least not at a high level. It’s extremely common especially outside of NJ. In NJ there are plenty of kids on HS rosters right now that are double-holdbacks with birthdays just under the 19 year old limit. My kids played against 18 year old sophomores this summer from Massachusetts with full beards. Most of the top PA wrestlers are all double holdbacks (I even know a triple). The number 1 recruit in the country, Bo Bassett, is 18 or 19 years old as a Junior.
Yea. Not involved at all. Outside of having coached at a NJ parochial and having 3 kids in sports. 2 already at D1 schools, one at P4 and in the national team pool. We are talking about NJ, I can’t speak for other states rules. To be a double hold back you is very rare.

How does going 1-1 in the Big Ten Tournament matter?

Assuming we are playing in the 1st round (9-15 seeds), does beating an at- best fellow bubble team followed by another loss to a tournament team really move the needle much?

Even if we get a bye, wouldn't we just be beating the same bubble at beat team (9-15 team) then losing for a solid tournament team.

When people say "and 1-1 in the Big Ten Tournament" what are you imagining and how does it help?

Seems only 2-3 wins (followed with another loss) in the conference tournament does anything?

Calling the resume specialists.

Rutgers vs Virginia Tech match...

OSU is impressive so far and them and Iowa certainly fighting for #2.

As far as PSU dual..it would be a nightmare matchup for OSU. They only favored (ranking wise) at one weight (125), and I'd take Lillehdahl over Spratley. Potential shutout dual. Beleive it or not, I'd say RU has a better chance to score against PSU then OSU. Better chance Shawver beats Davis then Spratley beating Luke
I told you Davis was underrated. You probably didn’t have him beating Bailey.

Lillehdahl barely got pass the mizzou kid… who’s unranked and only starting bc Surtin Retired.. ik a lot of ppl got him as champ this year but I don’t see it… believe it or not, I’d say LL would be the least likely to AA this year for PSU.. have a feeling 125 curse will strike…

OT: Minor Snowfall Christmas Eve Morning (<1") Likely

Ended up with 1.1" of new snow, so another overperformer. Roads are very slippery with no melting during this event, which was mostly at 26-27F. This gives me about 2.5" in the front yard, which gets more sun, and 3" in the backyard, which is shadier, so a white Christmas (more than 1/2" OTG at 7 am Christmas morning, technically) is a guarantee.

1.1" + 3.3" the other day and 0.3" in a few small dustings earlier this winter = 4.7", which is about normal for December (NYC's mean snowfall is 4.9", while NB's is 4.7") and we're unlikely to get more this month.

Right around an inch in Bergen County which was supposed to be a dusting, Stopped between 8:30 and 9.

Yea was so easy to make a bowl over the last decade. Anyone with half a brain can see football recruiting and development are miles ahead of where basketball is right now

Not sure why that was the response to my post as it wasn’t remotely the point I was making

There have to be many much more effective ways to measure the relative success of the FB and BB programs than citing making low tier bowls vs making the NCAA tourney . It’s apples-to-oranges. That was my sole point

OT: Water alert

The majority of people do nor drink tap water today without filtering. We switched to free, locally sourced spring water (Roosevelt Park, Colonial Park) in the late 1980s and when they were closed down we started to buy bottled water. The only exception is NYC, where I used to work for 33 years and the tapwater in the City tasted like spring water. Currently we live in the Martinsville section of Bridgewater, but we don't experience problems with the tapwater (discoloration, smell), perhaps because of our relatively high elevation on Somerset Hills.
Still does.
