Getting arrested or hit by a security guardOkay, I’ll bite. What’s the downside in going to the locker room and telling the team not to give up?

Pike is human. He’s made mistakes. But we’ve got to put him in position to minimize the mistakes he makes. We have to do the same with Schiano as well.Agree with you we need more money. I can personally feel Pike made a bad decision there when a center with Dylan and Ace was out number one need. I’m not saying that review I wanted Ewin here then.
What’s the numbers on KS st vs our NIL budget.
And St John’s has one of the biggest whales ever so that one actually helps our argument on this side.
Btw very much enjoying this convo with you. Thanks. Hopefully it leads to more donors of all sizes.
You do realize it can be both?
Completely agree with you on the lack of recruiting being an issue on why we're underperforming this year. We wouldn't have been able to retain Cliff and Mag. Doubt Mag would have made a real difference this year. Grant's basically giving you the same production sans the attitude.Let’s just get simple
1.) we get to the ncaa tournament …(yes covid.cancelled it) ….amd the follow up after cliff signing we sign these three classes
Class of 2021-Jones and miller
Class of 2022-sinpson., wolfolk and chol
Class of 2023-Griftths ans davis
2.) Everyone gets an extra covid year . We make the ncaa tournment and should have beaten the 2 seed and made the sweet 16. We had a chance to run it back with the ENTIREteam. The entire team . Shoukd have come in the preseason ranked 15. Instead , we start a trend that only Ron , geo and Caleb stick around and we lose key pieces yesr after year to the portal
After 2020-2021…lose Jacob young , Myles Johnson , and Montez Mathis
2021-2022….we didn’t lose anyone , but we do convince Caleb to return….but we could not convince Ron to stay either (and to be fair , at the time is was the Right move for Ron based on where things were…but if this situation happens 2 years later…he either stays at RU for a Big NIL pay day, or goes somewhere else for A big pay day …..it’s not like we actually set the trend and made it happen when the opportunity presented itself)
2023-2023…..we lose Spenser and Mulchay
2023-2024…..we lose cliff
This is reality….we didn’t recruit . And we didn’t retain our best pieces
Now …we sign the class of 2024, and we have a solid follow up class of 2025.. We look very in the game for the class of 2026. Did we solve our recruting issues ? Do we retain Sommervile , grant and Dortch and stsrt a rebuild areoind recruting , player development …and this. requires retention and the backing to do so????
Make no mistake about it. This year with Dylan and ace was damaged because we didn’t recruit the last three years to have progrsm, mature upperclassman around then to share the load….amd what pieces could have been here …we didn’t retain
if you don’t think a cliff and a proper attituded mag as 5th year guys could have helped on the boards and defensively ….(and while we don’t know the story on mag, the issues had lack of NIL origins as part of the issues )……with a frosh front court …..especially with what we replaced them with up front in the portal……and thsr wirh both of them having sone serious offensive limitations , these guys really could have been a major factor.
I just Know what we have next to the frosh….is inadquwte and 10-10 says it all. The frosh don’t have anyone to learn from ….and are being asked to carry a real load
One that the above rant lays it out ……..
No, two ways about it, Hobbs absolutely dropped the ball in this regardIronically, this was one of the biggest complaints about Pat Hobbs and now suddenly it's being argued that he was illogical or wrong for doing so.
The mentions above about it being both is correct, the problems occur when you don't have access or contact with enough fundraisers that are actually employed or graduated from the school. I'm not saying everyone has to be a RU graduate, but to capture donations from all demographics of donor levels, there has to be people that can cover all the bases of potential income sources.
That is really a cultural issue in the tristate area, because most schools in our region are not as successful in sports right now. Donations come when football plays good crisp football and looks like it has an idea on how to improve and win. They get 80% of the revenue share, they have to own 80% of the problems with poor play for the better part of the last decade.
If Schiano can break through on a consistent basis, donations, season tickets and other opportunities will start to flow. Normal logic would indicate that people want to be associated with winning and success that donors can be proud of and right now, we're closer but not where we should be.
you mean you couldn't buy tix to the Rate Bowl as mine highlighted?Similar here...
When I click through the links to the renewal applications page, all that shows up is the 2025 MBB B1G Tournament 🤮
This is excellent insight. Thank you for the honest input and perspective. We crossed paths a few times when I worked at one of the businesses in your neighborhood while I was a student and I can attest for anyone here that you are a stand-up, good guy who bleeds scarlet.I am happy to answer questions, as best I can, about RU merchandising and licensing. Please don't confuse my answers with my love and passion for RU, just reality.
I went to USC, UCLA and Maryland bookstores back in the fall. I've been to both on campus bookstores and off campus stores at PS-MSU-UM-NEB-IU-OSU from the B1G in addition to Syracuse-Clemson-South Carolina and the local UDel and Princeton. The choices, on campus and online, for RU gear aren't bad at all. I'm not sure what folks are expecting.
Please point out a "smaller school" that has a wider selection of merch. You can't compare to OSU or Tenn. Those type schools have been winning in a huge way for generations. We beat Louisville 18 years ago. They have 90,000+ stadiums that are sold out. they have a large, single campus that concentrates the students and the stadiums together. They are named after the state they represent. NJ folks don't follow Rutgers in the same bandwagon manner other states do. IMO, the biggest problem is simply demand. It's not there. We ordered the minimum and still have more than half left of the Rate Bowl tee.
The Izzo 1/4 zip is a nice Nike product. Are we liking the product, or the logo, or both. Scarlet Fever has a really nice Adidas 1/4 zip. I grabbed one myself. Having a cartoon Sparty/Knight dribbling just eliminated 90% of fans. It's only appealing to basketball fans now. It's cute, but wouldn't sell at RU. We've had very nice top shelf Nike and Adidas stuff and it mostly doesn't sell well. People aren't buying $70-$90 hoodies and lots of muttered comments about $75 Adidas polos. That leaves the next step down which is the mid-tier Champion or Colosseum. The step below that is the Pennant or Badger brands. Below that is the Jerzee and Gildan wholesale brands. Honestly, the Gildan soft style tee is more comfortable then most tees out there. The advent and growth of the internet allows the Peter Millar, Lulu or Johnnie O items available to anyone, at any time. The lack of selection is simply a result of supply/demand. On campus, we focus more on the students and they're not buying Peter Millar. RU is not a wealthy student body.
I've had more than my share of disagreements with RU Licensing, but lack of selection or availability is not on them. Rutgers itself doesn't control what is offered by any company, or where it's sold. They can be limiting with art sometimes. Adidas has sucked with product offerings and support, but the demand hasn't been there. Personally, I don't like that retro patch logo, but tough to argue subjective. At $38 a tee and $75 hoodies, it's available for those who like it. What you all want to see???
me too and that's because when you click on the renew tab you get what I showed ahead and you can't submit an application. SMH.. but surprised?Yesterday 10 a.m. Sometimes the e-mails go in waves. Check spam folder.
When I click the links, I get:

Fortunately, we’ve hired a team to focus on that type of potential donorGS has realized this. Focus on the whales, dont waste time with the small money. As someone who has raised close to 9-figures from investors over the past 8 years, my time is spent exclusively talking to accredited investors. Will I ignore a non-accredited investor? No. But the point of that convo would be to find out who the accredited investors they know are.
1 Whale = 1,000 little guys.
1 Whale doesnt have a lot of time to talk, they want to get to the point. Much more effective use of time.
1,000 little guys want attention and to feel special.
The whales are what wins and loses nil

Good to see you are having fun with BTC. GEV's fwd PE is still about 100. Excessive? :)Never owned gold; I invest instruments and companies that cash flow (except for my fun gamble on a bitcoin ETF that I purchased last January.l). I’m not a bear, but I don’t generally hold on to stocks where the valuation looks excessive, and buy when everyone else is selling (example, sold NVDA last week at $146 and bought yesterday at $123; and GEV at $322 this morning).
This 👆👆👆I would have a better understanding of that than you. Big money people are not coming if they don't feel everyone is all in and yes SOME big money people started decades ago giving small amounts and gradually increased as their earnings increased.

However, Harper isn't healthy. With a healthy Harper I like Rutgers to win 79-75. Think we match up much better against a team like this than say PSU
