Why is it ridiculous to say he “gutted” the program. The program had decent momentum coming into last year, he’s lost 15/20 games and has positioned Rutgers as the answer to a Trivia Question given his disgraceful ineptitude coaching a team with two lottery picks.
Can you please let this community know what Pike would need to do to effectively gut the program? If he burned down the practice facility as a demonstration of his solidarity with Pat Hobbs would that do it?
Cause he didn’t gut the program. Where Rutgers is now as a program is light years ahead of where they were when took over. If the program is at that spot again..sure, that’s when I’ll say it’s gutted.

yeah very fortunate that they bricked all their 3s...it wasnt good D and really Purdue got anything they wanted inside, they should have realized it earlier and just pounded rutgers constantly inside

The funny thing is these last two games have an average defensive rating of 93.7, which when extrapolated out over an entire season would rank 15th nationally (I do think todays mark was more about Purdue missing open 3s than anything Rutgers did). The offense just conveniently fell off a cliff in that stretch, particularly cruel
