Always thought it was the shoes or the club. Someone is going to get a bonus check from TM.

Ball has always been the biggest game changer on tour.

OT: Stock and Investment Talk

Have you been in the market? I know you moved out awhile ago.
Never completely out of equities. But have significantly reduced exposures, particularly to more vulnerable and over-valued segments. What remains mostly is large cap value. Did create a variety of Treasury (Note) ladders including TIPS. Holding on to I-Bonds but not accumulating; they serve as a reserve. And maintain short-term Ts via the likes of SGOV and VMFXX. Did exit gold with the recent run up. Expecting to rebalance some and move more into equities when the opportunity "seems" right.

Always get a kick out of following all the manuevering as posted in this thread....

How many more years does Pike get a pass with no tournament?

the buyout makes it relevant
Buyout
  • 2023-24: $15 million
  • 2024-25: $13 million
  • 2025-26: $11 million
  • 2026-27: $9 million
  • 2027-28: $7 million
  • 2028-29: $5 million
  • 2029-30: $3 million
  • 2030-31: $1 million
Rutgers hates buyouts and usually tries to keep the HC until the end of contract unless they can find a so cause
The 2029-30 season is when, in my opinion, RU will be willing to pony up and dump Pike if the MBB program isn't doing too well
fvckin hobbs.

Waste Management is this week Bus. Genesis is next wee. Biggest names in field are Scheffler, Matsuyama, Spieth, Thomas, and Homa.

Oh yeah, and Chris Gotterup. Go RU and Jersey Shore!
Thanks. Should have figured that out. Always Super Bowl Week for many years. Bonus they have much better weather high 70s to 80. No wind to speak of. Sunny!
Thankfully dry January is over so I can sit and the watch the 16th hole and throw empty beer cans at the TV!! 🤪

Mmmmm no. I try to get out but they keep dragging me back in. Simpson rant has no basis in fact.

Simpson averaging almost 10 points a game, 4 and a half rebounds for a guard!, 3.7 assists a game, assist turnover rate of 1.7, has 26 steals, shooting almost 33% from three and almost 80% from the line. Is the A10 the B1G of course not, but it’s a solid league.

Horrendous numbers against good competition? Bias much?

I firmly believe we should not have gave up on him and would have helped immensely.
Experience alone would have been invaluable.

Simpson's been on a poor streak of late, mostly because he's been facing some tougher programs. He's scoring 9.8 pts/game, but on .368 FG%... which is worse than he was as a freshman at Rutgers. Since conference play started, he's scoring 9.0 pts/game on .333 FG% and .275 3P%.

His rebounding has improved a bit, but his efficiency has been regressing to his career mean. It's up a bit overall from last year because St. Joseph's plays a lighter schedule. Against tougher teams, his shooting has really suffered compared to what it is against lower quality opponents.

I'd still have liked to have kept him this year, though, just as another guy on the floor who had game reps in Pike's system who could have helped the other guys along defensively. We need to do everything we can to keep the guys we have this year as we go into 2025-26.

OT: NJ Devils 2024-2025 Thread

5 wins in 17 games since Christmas. I know they're down their 2 best players (this season) at the moment, but once again, this is getting ugly. Bratt, Mercer, Hamilton and Dillon were all horrendous yesterday. I guess the center depth really is that bad - 17/44 in the faceoff circle. 0/5 on the PP with a SHG against. Maybe Cotter is waking up a bit, but I'd be hard pressed to find another NHL team getting less from their bottom 6 forwards. And the beat reporters and team shills online can go on and on about them fighting back - how about not falling behind 3 goals to that team?

Again, not that I want him to panic, but where is this GM? He was a ghost for months last year (outside of appearing in a Preds jersey at a ceremony in Nashville last Feb) - and let the season go down the toilet before addressing anything. This team is screaming for a shakeup of some sort. Now just 5 pts up on CBJ, who have a game in hand on NJ, this team profiles as a first round exit in 5 games.
