One thing lost in the shuffle about Saturday

If they had done that back in the 90’s ( split from the football schools), we might still have a Northeast Football Conference.

The main reason Miami was the first domino was because they wanted to expand the football conference, and the brain trust in Providence refused because they were afraid of losing their power in the conference.

Until you posted it, I didn’t even know there was a company named GAF. I was not referring to any company. I was using GAF as an acronym.

So you made a gaffe then.

OT: New York Mets 2024-2025 Off Season Thread

As you probably know by now, Francisco Lindor is an MVP finalist. No Met has ever won the MVP. The closest any Met has come is second place, three times:

1969 - Tom Seaver
1984 - Keith Hernandez
1988 - Darryl Strawberry.

Lindor seems destined to be the fourth.

Also, Carlos Mendoza is a Manager of the Year finalist, along with Pat Murphy (who will win IMO) and Mike Shildt.

GAME 2 SAINT PETER'S: Learning to Fly

I thought it was very telling that they did not let Lathan or Ogbloe out there for crunch time when we needed defensive stands.

I also saw the JMike for Hayes switch after time outs multiple times. Offense for defense.

It's always interesting what you can tease out about the future rotation from these early season games.
On the other hand …it says a LOT that coach went twice with lathan for 10 plus minutes without a rest …for a big man. He will grow into the defensive player as he plays

GAME 2 SAINT PETER'S: Learning to Fly

one thing I will add....

this has to change

RU 3-16 3fg

vs Wagner 5-16 fg for a 8-32 total of 25%

St Peters 10-27 fg...and I think they were 9-20 fg at one point

this is at home and not on the road....some things change but its looking like our 3 pt fg shooting awfulness remains the same.
I’m not ready to panic on this because

1.) we are missing Ace and he will be a high 30% theee point threat

2.) the quality of looks are there from what we are taking and will even out

Hated the Scoreboard Music PA production

I weirdly didn't notice what you guys are talking about outside of a couple of the cringeworthy make some noiseeeee. And I despise this kind of thing more than anyone.
it was noticably worse last night than any other game I have ever been to

there needs to be a balance...the wonderwall thing is good, a few other songs but whoever had control last night must be stopped.

One thing lost in the shuffle about Saturday

Here's the facts.
It was 14 years ago.
We overcame that shitty conference. We are in the Big Ten. WE WON!
Where is UConn?
They lost.
Let it go. Stupid comment means nothing today!
Some people just love to make up drama! Laughing at old, stupid comments is much more healthy for everyone.
BTW PT was right.
let it go GIF
One other point. He should have been fired after making the comment.

Syracuse targeting Jersey players

We’re making $75mill per year just from media rights from the BIG.
Next contract it could be $100mill.
If all donor money is going to NIL,the school is going to have to find a way to finance and fund it.
It’s pertinent to be on a level playing field with our competitors.
The football facility and the basketball arena could be two of the biggest challenges to face our new President and AD.
They have to get it done.
Losing Pat happened at the worst possible time. Both projects need to get done.

One thing lost in the shuffle about Saturday

Greg Schiano and Bob Mulcahey made a push to get more coverage in south jersey -Philadelphia.
They were told if you want more exposure you need to do 2 things.
Get more kids from our area and win.

Today I see a great mix of kids from that area.
I also see the Erasmus Hall, Holy Trinity connection. With our games being broadcast on the fan.
Are people rushing home to watch us?
I don’t know? I do know for a fact there is definitely more interest out there.
Maybe Lenny could answer that for us.
Don't disagree with you but how does that relate to Tagliabue's comment about the Big Ten was destroying college football back in 2010?
I'm just surprised that after all that has changed since 2010 that people think that comment is still relevant to Rutgers Football 2024.
