OT: Stock and Investment Talk

There may be some things that track the Dow but most funds if they track an index, it's the S&P. Whatever, move NVDA has will be on its own merit. Same for INTC for that matter.

Speaking of which, INTC had a good pop on earnings but still think that 24-25ish area will resistance for it.
Good move for the Dow. Its correlation to the S&P 500 has faded over the past 5-10 years. They want to keep the Dow relevant and aligned to the broader market.

As for NVDA, everything helps, but you are right, the Dow isn't really a tradeable index.

Well you’re old ! Good thing Washington wasn’t afraid of the dark !!
I have no need to stay up late to win. I control my life not a sporting event. Old has nothing to do with it. At 17 I was opening Spring Meadow Golf Course at dawn. Sorry you are a dope letting other people to control your life!😂

Question: I tried selling two Center Court, 3rd Row Basketball Tickets for a Big Ten game on SeatGeek last year and ate the tickets. Any Success?

Reached out in interim, still 1,000 in SOW.

Hahaha yea that clause in the SOW isn’t getting fulfilled then.

You still talking about the Stubhub SOW?

And for the record I was never saying that you were lying about what KTR said. My point was that this isn’t up to date or accurate. If it was there would be more than the 50-150 ticket listings available on SeatGeek for the non-conference games over the next few weeks (this amount includes tickets posted by season ticket holders as well….so the actual # posted by SeatGeek is even less).

What do we do without either of them?
There are plenty of other fish in the sea. Could sign Alex Bregman and move Vientos to first. Could sign Willy Adames, move him to third, and Vientos to first. Could sign Christian Walker to a short term deal to play first. And who knows who might be available in the trade market.

Let’s rehash how this played out…

Your first post said “Rutgers gives 1,000 basketball to their third-party seller every home game”. Your statement insinuated this was current practice today.

Then when questioned on this by multiple posters, your second post said this was true as of last Fall (2023).

Then when questioned further, you say this was actually true as of Fall 2022.

In reality in the Fall of 2022 we used a completely different ticket broker which would mean this amount 1) outdated and also most likely 2) not accurate today.

You then come back in and state “this is the deal Hobbs signed”…as if the deal you’re talking about still exists (it doesn’t - it was replaced with a SeatGeek deal).

It’s really a silly topic but another thread where you purposely state or insinuate things in a certain way that isn’t actually reality.

Again I don’t know what you’re getting at. I said that was a deal in reference to other people who mentioned Rutgers sells tickets to third parties so why would we hold ticket holders to a different standard. I then said the information could be outdated.

Not sure what got in your craw today.

I agree whole heartedly. With his past 2 years, there shouldn't be a single GM who would give Alonso 5 years $25+ million per year. If his power numbers dip, he would become useless (henceforth my previous comparison to Chris Davis). Stearns is smart enough to know that. My guess is that the Mets offer Soto 10 years $400-450 million with deferred money to make it closer to $600 million and offer Pete 2 years $40-50 million.
Somebody is going to offer Alonso five years. Whether it will be at an AAV acceptable to Boras and him, I cannot say. He may accept a shorter deal at a higher AAV. But somebody's going to offer him five.

OT: New York Yankees 2024-2025 Off Season Thread

WhiteBus has taken the convo completely away from the point = which was that Yankees will need to spend big this offseason, and that includes Soto, because if they don’t make the playoffs next season then, yes, there will be a drop-off. In fact, I’m glad he provided that article. Because if the guy could read he would have seen that the Yankees (and Knicks) HAVE THE LOWEST CHANGE IN VALUE % OF ANY TEAMS IN THE TOP 10. And it’s not even like the Yankees stunk the past 5 years. Spend a few minutes and run a comparison across the top 25 and it’s not good for a legendary team in the largest market in the World. Yanks ruled the baseball world for decades. Then the Red Sox punched them in the face and since then it’s been a mixed bag. Just think about what winning/Brady did for the Patriots value. They went from a terrible low value franchise to one of the most valuable. And now it’s slipping for obvious reasons.
Maybe you should read the Forbes article first! Jesus!
