OT: NFL 2025 Playoff Games Thread

The Texans probably go to Kansas City now , assuming Buffalo wins. Damn what an easy conference semifinal game for the chiefs.
The Texans are not that good.
Looks to be the case. The other game would be a heavyweight match between Buffalo and Baltimore. Winner goes to Arrowhead to take on the champs. Personally, I'm hoping for a KC/Detroit SB. History vs. History! 3-peat or first ever.

Buffalo in the SB would be pretty cool as well. Good storylines. Even Baltimore wouldn't be bad. Can Lamar get over the hump (i.e., like Steve Young)?

Rutgers New Brunswick students release a 'terrorist-like' message to their school, demanding that the school cut ties with Israel.

I have felt your unsubstantiated claims you knew how to end the conflict in the area best as the most humorous post in this thread. Then we got this one.

Well it makes sense you'd identify with Hirsi Ali- a bigoted grifter who lies like your cult cops felony convictions.

Though she pretends to like free speech, and you openly and proudly claim your hatred for the First Amendment and how it allows things you hate, like the right to protest or for Jewish Americans to offer opinions that would trigger Fox News watching landscapers and valets.

How lucky is Kyle Flood?

There is a shit ton of revisionist history and memory holing in this thread
I think Flood is a top-notch assistant/AHC though what I truly don't get is the 'great/ better game day coach than Schiano' narrative. I always ask 'based on what???' and the answers always seem to be 'beat Michigan', 'won the Big East' or 'beat Arkansas twice' without any further context. From 2012-2015 our record vs. winning teams was 4-19 and our record vs. bowl teams was 6-22. In 2012 we lost at home to Louisville, playing with a fairly-injured QB against our best defensive unit in years, with the BCS bid on the line...and the week prior to that we pretty much no-showed vs a 6-7 Pitt team that could have clinched the Big East title outright and rendered the Louisville result an afterthought. In 2013 we had 0 wins against bowl teams and lost by double-digits in 6 of our 7 losses. 2014 was solid though 4 of our 5 losses were the same blowouts vs. the same teams that people crush Schiano for...and we all know what 2015 looked like.

Dayton's got a fair chance at an at-large if they don't get the A10 autobid if things break right for them.

If the Bonnie's finish 25-6, though, I can't see any way they are in without an auto-bid. They only have 2 more Q1/Q2 games left and have only one loss so far. They are also favored in all of their remaining games but one. If they drop 5 more games, that'd be at least 3 Q3/Q4 losses on their resume as well as the related metrics hit from losing to several teams lower than them in NET.... and if their other two losses are Dayton and @VCU, it would mean no Q1 wins to balance them (0-2 Q1, 3-1 Q2). If they take care of business against everyone by Dayton and VCU, and finish 28-3, it'd be hard to keep them out.... but last year, Indiana St got left out at 26-5 (1-3 Q1, 4-1 Q2) with one bad Q4 loss at home.
so both Dayton and St Bonaventure are killing their resumes. Dayton had a hideous loss at UMass and has dropped 3 of its last 4. Still they do have wins over Marquette and UConn and that will go along way as long as they can win the A10 regular season title. For St Bonaventure losing to La Salle was a disaster..its Q3 right now but very easily can be Q4. At 13-3 even and no Q1 wins their NET is down to 68 already

Potentially useful NIL article about breakdown and averages of NIL deals.

the data includes all sports and all schools

more relevant would be more basketball only and specifically in the top 5 conferences plus maybe add in Gonzaga and Memphis

also is this like the third year of the NIL...any data from even last year is outdated given what we just saw last spring in the portal.

You bring up good points. Just something to ponder, though. I do believe it still has relevancy. Feel free to add an article that you think would clear things up more.

NET slides to 95

Notre Dame right behind at 96

UCLA at 30 is a Quad 1 win opportunity that would almost certainly immediately knock the Bruins down to a Quad 2 victory after it happens.

Columbia at 160 is just one spot away from moving from a Quad 3 win to a Quad 4 win.

RU SOS overall is 41, non conference 146

RU WAB is 117!

RU is 0-6 in Quad 1 games, only 2 other schools Iowa and Minnesota are winless in Q1 but Iowa has 5 Q2 wins.

Here's your #1 NBA 2025 draft pick

Not saying upgrading talent was a mistake. It’s more about who they are surrounded by. The rest of our team is a disaster in roster makeup. My point is more geared towards having continuity in your program with older players who have culture/system knowledge(aka Cliff in this example). A guy like Martini has upperclassman experience but not in our program.

Thank you as I haven’t really looked at their program and credit to their coach for that.
Maybe Pike needs to
Look at the freshman at this stage too and let them loose rather than these older players who don’t derive value.
You mean the other two freshman…because the three freshman starters do play plenty, obviously.

What I don't understand about this narrative is who or what did pike give up by bringing these 2 players in? If anything it was a huge risk not bringing in better talent to surround them with. Recruits haven't panned out over the last couple of years. I like the class they have signed up for next year though. I just don't understand how bringing in Dylan and Ace can be seen as a negative for Rutgers.

That is normally true and Duke has a couple of upperclassman but it appears their success over the the last 6-7 games as they are on a 10 game win streak , it due to their freshman , Flagg , Knueppel and Malauch . They run their offense thru their freshman and gelled presently. A tribute to their coach.

OT: College Football Playoffs Semifinal Games 1/9-1/10 Thurs-Fri

OSU has more players, but I think ND could keep it close. Their defense is very good and I’m sure they will copy Texas’s approach of playing the safeties back and shading extra help on Smith. Make OSU sustain drives . Think ND will need a very big game from their QB, will need to protect the ball, hit some throws downfield and most importantly , use his feet and run effectively. I like OSU by about a TD.
