GAME 22 MICHIGAN: They battled

I will say this when that second 3 went up from him there was a collective grown from the coaches on the bench and he was taken out shortly after so I don't think they are really giving him the green light.

He's just a Frosh that tries to do too much at times but I do think that eventually he'll be a kid that can step out a hit one from time to time. He has a really nice looking stroke in general. Hoping we can keep him for next year.
Good recap per usual. Accurate and the season is just all about staying out of the bottom 3 at this point.

Concerning Lathan, I actually thought he would be better this year on offense and thought he would provide some shooting. Maybe even hit some 3 point shots. He hasn’t provided much offense and I am feeling like his freshman year is less than expected, similar to Griffiths last year. Not as disappointing as Gavin was last year as Gavin was higher rated with higher expectations, but I do feel like we expected more contributions and scoring from Lathan and it really hasn’t happened much. Every game is the same with him at this point, 6-8 pts./4 or 5 reb., rinse and repeat. I was expecting him to maybe have the occasional 15/8 type game, maybe a few of them, doesn’t happen. Feel like the jury is out on him going into next year if he can be a good big 10 center.

Anyone else have a problem with Grant and Dortchs minutes?

Take your pick:
Only need one of these to win the game:
1. Make only 2 more 3’s
2. Hit 4 more foul shots
3. Throw 2 better passes in first half that became easy turnovers
4. Ace shoot a little better
5. Shoot 50% on layups
6. Let Acuff play 9 more minutes
7. Have a few set plays at half time to adjust to Ace being double teamed and someone wide open
Etc

RAPID REACTION - Michigan

On #1 - It was the wrong play, Ace had a WIDE OPEN THREE and passed to Martini. Never, ever, ever, never do we want Ace passing up his own wide open 3 to give Martini a shot for the three. I repeat, never, ever. If Ace was covered then I would agree with you, but Ace was wide open.
ace didnt work hard enough imo...as an upperclassmen he would...oh well

RAPID REACTION - Michigan

This game was lost because we kept on taking 3 point shots , most of them open and we shot bricks. We had 10 chances in the second half alone to take the lead for good and run away with this and fell flat. Why were we taken over 30 threes. ACE probably had his worst game of the year besides his 3-15 and did not impact the game in other ways. Thought once his shot was not going down he could have crashed the offensive boards but he remained outside all game. Almost mind boggling to see him shoot like this today after his 4 road games in January where he shoots like 55-65% .
We as a team shoot better on the road as the RAC has not only not become an intimidating place any longer , but we play and shoot much worse at the RAC. Anyone of Martini , PJ or Derdack multiple open threes for some reason do not go down at the RAC no matter how open the player is. Such an easy game to get a victory and we mostly lay an egg . Michigan would turn the ball over or we would get a steal and come up empty on the ensuing possession

Lathan frustrating at times but did play better in the 2nd half. Just cannot be taking 3s anymore and do not know why Pike gives him the green light to continue to do it. Unfortunately this is a game where another body in EO would make a big difference. Of course Dylan would hve made a difference but then again the whole game would have been played at a different pace.
