Poor NIL is the biggest reason for our disappointing season

A GM is needed, but how is the power structure? If the GM just counts Pennies and Pike still says he wants to over pay for low major transfers that’s no help. There has to be some check on Pikes lack of eye for talent lately.
If there is not marked improvement next year and Pike opts to stay, I think the new AD will start to exert control over the program. This will likely be in the form of an AD selected GM.

Should Schiano lighten up on the Cultural match ?

I have had some crazy ideas expressed on this board from time to time.. all I had to do was admit it when shown I was wrong or, in general, we come to the conclusion that it is unknowable and we agree to disagree.

But no answer? *crickets* as you say.... that makes me think it was troll behavior all along.
I answered the cricket comment and I am a 30 year season tkt holder. So feel free to believe whatever you wish

I live and die with this team and believe that Greg Schiano will eventually get us to where we all want to be

For those who flat out said no not a good idea or even said "dumbest idea" ...thats fine. But the troll supposition is not remotely true

I will continue to post and you will find that I am essentially a positive poster

Basketball Rutgers Basketball suffers 81-74 loss to No. 8 Michigan State at MSG

The irony of CBB fans saying they don't understand how Ace and Dylan (and others over the years) can't understand how freshman are top NBA prospects while also saying "imagine how good they would be us in 3-4 years" is not lost of me.

NBA teams are saying the same thing "Think of how good Ace/Dylan will be in 5 years".
For NBA teams, the less time a player spends in college, the better the prospect they are. College basketball does nothing to prepare players for the NBA.

Uh, pike had nothing to do with ace, and only some with Harper.
I know it's hard but try not to be a moron

The guy deserves to get crushed for his F level coaching this year. But to say he had nothing to do with the recruiting....ayeeeee

Just stop this completely idiotic narrative . He's the fkng head coach.

Final set of scrimmages this Saturday, hosting Villanova (1 pm) and Hofstra (4 pm)

They are. It’s time for him to shine. He was a four star who was pretty highly recruited.

There is another video circulating on alum threads of SSDM Dean Scalamandre absolutely bullying a Nova middie. That position in particular went from a real question mark to something I’m close to considering a strength based on some things I’ve seen and what I’m being told.

Macheca was our top d mid last season and as of today you might say he’s third and maybe even fourth. And he’s good. That’s a really good sign. We are only as good as our d mids. No other te relies on them more than we do.
I am ready for this season to start. Hoping that first game will be televised.

Is this team uncoachable?

Maybe Pike just recruits low IQ players.

I can remember a few smart ones - RHJ, Geo, Cam. But most Pike players look lost on the court. We all know about the offense that appears to run off a playbook with a single blank page.

How often does a Rutgers center make a pass? Cliff averaged 0.7 assists per game at Rutgers. Lathan is at 0.5. Heck, Shaq did 1.7 in college and 2.5 in NBA.
I saw one yesterday by Sommerville to Dercack.

I’ll defend Pike on the recruiting. Getting Harper and Ace was a miracle. The other transfers looked good on paper. This team doesn’t have chemistry because of all the frosh and transfers.

I will not defend Pike on coaching. I don’t understand why we didn’t play D for the 1st 15 games. Points we were giving up to avg teams was alarming. The lack of offense…..dead horse.
Uh, pike had nothing to do with ace, and only some with Harper.

FB Recruiting 2026 Four-Star South Carolina RB Jaylen McGill commits to Rutgers Football

You mean the National Semifinalist PSU. That one?

Has RU EVER outrecruited PSU? Year to year they're OSU, Michigan level. It's called winning big games, like it or not.

It wasn't that long ago RU was finishing 15th or 16th out of 16 in B1G recruiting. Now it's up to 8th or 9th out of 18 in '25. ON3 has RU 7th nationally and 2nd in the B1G in transfer portal roster improvement.

Win and young men will show up.
I guess since we're (likely) halfway to PSU's number somewhere we secretly built half a fieldhouse.
PSU caring about winning football games and "lip service" should never be used in the same sentence.
