Izzo Pullover

I've had more than my share of disagreements with RU Licensing, but lack of selection or availability is not on them. Rutgers itself doesn't control what is offered by any company, or where it's sold. They can be limiting with art sometimes. Adidas has sucked with product offerings and support, but the demand hasn't been there. Personally, I don't like that retro patch logo, but tough to argue subjective. At $38 a tee and $75 hoodies, it's available for those who like it. What do you all want to see???
This:

But in a turtleneck with the back view on front. Kind of like this...

And Homefield said they were going to make one ("We love the idea. Let us work on it.") but went with this look instead:

But I already have the original:

Which I might have bought from you?

Lack of demand maybe due to lack of quality stuff. We all see what the Coaches and Teams wear. None of that is available to the fans. I’m talking to you Adidas.
Tell me about it. My sons play college hockey. Even they won't let have their stuff. LOL

Pacheco NFL Firsts

I had started to post the names of players I liked but it got too long. I do think Hank Stram (coach in the suit in NFL films) was a good guy along with Marty Schottenheimer. I cant forget Christian Okoye the Nigerian Nightmare. He was one of those Chiefs that looked scary in pads and he played hard but was a likeable player

Hank Stram was loved by his players.

Poor NIL is the biggest reason for our disappointing season

of course...was responding to someone saying his $5-$10K donation wouldn't matter...

however you want to tell me that the 17+ thousand people that made the trip to MSG couldn't pony up $25 a month or $300 a year? i went to msg and that is an expensive afternoon for a family of five. so i don't think that subset of the population is living in poverty. and if they all did give well that is five plus million right there.

of course getting one guy to pony up multi millions is ideal but don't tell me that smaller donations don't matter as well...esp from people who are here pointing out every possible negative thing about the program while not doing anything of substance to actually help it.

Hobbs should’ve organized a broad grass roots give what you can NIL campaign for this hoops season. I think the lawyer in him was concerned with advocating for pay for play….thats same lawyer in him was not concerned with having an extra-marital affair with a staff member.

OT: NFL 2025 Playoff Games Thread

Problem? She got the KC Chiefs into the Superbowl. I suspect the Eagles will expose them because the NFL will already have the TV Ratings from her being there through the playoffs.. they insured KC would get home games and advance. Now they have little reason to help KC.. except maybe out of habit.. they have done it so often.
You’re kidding with this, right? Just want to make sure my sarcasm meter isn’t off today.

Should Schiano lighten up on the Cultural match ?

We shall see how fast we go up hill -our schedule next year and beyond is still ridiculous and the gap between us and the likes of PSU, OSU, Michigan and Oregon are still very large.

But hopefully with (1) retaining the kids we want and (2) bringing in good recruiting and portal classes year-after year we will consistently compete with (and beat more often than not) the likes of Iowa and Wisconsin (and be a constant threat to knock off a big boy from time-to-time)
OSU/Oregon/PSU is not the next step- it is the following one. Not sure if we hit that level but the next step in the fast track is playing those teams with the hope of an upset or just not getting blown away. This year’s OSU game shows we are not that far off. And this time last year- we were afraid of what is going to happen to us when we lose our Seniors. There could be an argument that we have reached the point where GS now knows the portal and we have enough NIL to not worry as much about getting worse.

Poor NIL is the biggest reason for our disappointing season

Also the "not doing anything of substance" - every ticket someone buys for a game and every time they pay for parking, they're doing something of substance for the team. It's the team's job to give enough entertainment value back to the fans that makes people want to spend their $$$ on watching the team play.

Poor NIL is the biggest reason for our disappointing season

People spent money to get something in return - a trip to MSG and a basketball game. How many of those 17K would have attended if it cost an extra $300 per ticket for no additional return? Many fans are already dropping several hundred dollars a year on season tickets/parking/etc - to ask them for another $300 that they get zero additional benefit from is not going to get many takers.

It's basically asking people to give money to charity... but it doesn't have any charitable benefit and it's not even tax deductible (like the same donation to the University itself would be)

Also, the "living in poverty" is a misunderstanding of just how little "extra" cash most people have. 80% of the country has less than $5K in savings. For those that do have that much, what percent do you think are willing to part with $300 (per year!) for nothing in return.

If someone has enough disposable income to toss $5-10K toward their favorite college team, that's great - but most people probably aren't financially comfortable enough to even toss $50 in that particular bucket.

Agree re charity. Helping people truly in need seems better to me than paying a professional athlete.

Program issues start with recruting and player renention …..

I don't want another offseason of adding 9 or 10 players. I would rather retain Derkack, Ogbole, and either JWill OR JMike (and Sommerville, Grant, and Dortch) just to have some continuity and guys that know the system, if they're willing to accept supporting roles. Note I said JWill "OR" JMike -- I don't think we need or want both.

Add the four freshmen for 2025 (Mark, Powers, Nwuli, and Ware), so that would be 10 guys.

But we ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, must add the following portal players:
  1. A starting PG -- not willing to bank on Lino Mark or JWill as my starting PG next year.
  2. A starting 2G
  3. A starting-caliber WF -- a 6-5 to 6-7 guard/wing who can do everything
  4. A rugged PF/C who can rebound and play defense and get putbacks.
The lineup next year should look like this:

1 - PORTAL#1, Mark (JWill OR JMike)
2 - PORTAL#2, Derkack, Powers
3 - PORTAL#3, Nwuli
4 - Grant (30 minutes), PORTAL#4, Dortch
5 - Sommerville, PORTAL#4, Ware, Ogbole
If you go out to pick up a portal 1,2, and 3 starters …and grow up the class of 2025 correctly …we are not affording them AND keeping Jwill, Jmike as depth who won’t play much without a lot of money and more then they will command on the open market for the risk of not pkayinf and improving, in their eyes, their career stock .

Ditto a portal center and orgobke

It’s a portal point guard OR Jwill/Jkike
It’s a portal center OR orgobke

Getting a two and three …I’m all in agreement.

Reactions: Greene Rice FIG

OT: A once disgraced coach is making $160K at a N.J. school. But is it just to win games?

So he's getting paid $9k to coach (which is a normal coaching stipend I believe).

And then coincidentally he's also then hired for a new obscure position that pays him $150k.
Makes perfect sense.........

Someone tell me again how it's "greedy kids only looking out for themselves" that is causing all these atheltic department (college and now HS) deficits.
Rice, 55, would serve as "facilitator of athletic academic assistance/community resources".

That's some huge word salad for "no show" job just to get him to be their coach. That salary is higher than every vice principal in my school district and they actually do stuff. The people of this school district should be outraged in a time where they are cutting school budgets, teachers and classes.
