Lots of needless negativity here

It is very perplexing . We are Rutgers last I checked , so not really understanding all the negativity after a historically good season by RU standards .
We just had our greatest season in our BIG history - 4 conference wins - our most ever. A big non conference win at va tech.
We exceeded the Vegas overs on win totals for total season and conference wins . We covered the spread easily last night . If you bet on RU this year, you are a winner $$

The non CFP playoff games don’t mean much . It’s basically an exhibition . Yeah we should have won, but it’s not the end of the world.

Next year will be tough. The goal and measuring stick will be to get back to the Pinstripe Bowl . We can watch as schiano tries to be the first football coach to go 4-0 in the “new” Yankee Staidium .
That is a reasonable expectation and setting ourselves up for another great season of Rutgers football.
Enjoy what was a great 2024 season and be excited about 2025
Indiana had the season we were supposed to have. Run the table on a mediocre schedule and do something special. We started 4-0 and then royally s the bed due to awful coaching and injuries.

This was not a “great” season in anyway.

I thought this was a post from The Onion.

I definitely get it, you want to demand more . We just had our greatest season in our BIG history. Let’s at least enjoy that. No reason to complain after what was a great season for us
Or we played no one all season and underachieved. Then finished that year giving up a 17 point lead late in a meaning less bowl game again while being thoroughly out coached in the second half.

Carino pitches 8-team all-Garden State MTE in his latest pod

Interesting enough, Jerry Carino recently pitched an 8-team all-Garden State MTE in his latest pod. Wants to include Rutgers, Seton Hall, Princeton, FDU, Rider, NJIT, Monmouth, and St. Peter's. Teams would play similar to Big 5 Classic model. Place teams in pods, play quarters and semis at home sites, play finals at Prudential Center.

If it were to ever happen, Rutgers would play a slew of Quad 4 schools and would have to have Seton Hall in their pod in order to continue the Garden State Hardwood Classic.

Does anyone see this benefiting Rutgers at all? (need to hear what @bac2therac thinks of this)

Since the scrimmage v St. John,‘ s . . .

I’m not sure what the communication lines are or how it works Flux.
Technically the school cannot be involved in paying players.
Is Pike allowed to speak to generous donors directly and ask them to personally contribute to the collective who pays the players, can he ask the donors to specifically give money aimed at a single player?
Who does the prospective player speak with to make his monetary demands, and does that person have the ability to meet directly with high level donors?
Other programs navigate this minefield. Usually by having a middleman drop a bag.

Lots of needless negativity here

This is probably the most depressing thread of them all. Basically, the OP's argument is that Rutgers is such a loser program and always will be that we should just be grateful and pleased to go 7-6 and lose a nothing bowl game to a very flawed Big 12 team. The OP must moonlight on Schiano's PR staff, because his post sounds like it comes directly from Schiano's talking points. Here is an alternative reality, how about as a fan base we start to demand more out of our football program, including its coaches and the administration and not fall back on the well it's Rutgers so just be happy with mediocrity mentality pushed by many within the university.

THE OFFICIAL 2024-2025 NET RANKINGS THREAD

That is what the tourney teams in 2023 said. Their formula for success in the 2023 NCAA tourney is the same one I watched just beat Rutgers. You seem like Flux , overestimating the big bad BIG 10

This is completely irrelevant to how a loss to Princeton is viewed by the NCAA selection committee. Minnesota or Washington could knock off a top 4 seed on a given day too. That doesn’t make a loss to any of these teams respectable. They are bad losses for teams with any hope of an NCAA bid. Full stop.
