Sustain and retain …Pike’s and Rutgers basketball way forward to rebuilding the program

I’m aware …

I’m also aware our defense is 17th out 18th on kenpom among big ten teams

So…my hunch is we will be focusing on defense and rebounding a bunch next season in the hope the class of 2026 adds more offensive backcourt threats

I like to see one portal player …spend the money on a 2 year swing guard that is good for 12 plus a game and can shoot 37% plus from three …..

Then roll with mark and powers in the back court and add class of 2026 kids
That should equate to about 2 conference wins with that roster.

Everyone is complaining about the offense, but ….

Is the premise then that HC Pike has the worst luck in the world and just happened to end up with an entire roster of guys who didn't significantly and immediately develop into better players?

That's quite the coincidence.
Who under Pike has really developed into a better player? Ron and Caleb certainly. Myles too. Geo was interesting. I thought he played his best early in his career and never seemed to find another level. Or even really reach that one consistently. PM never really got much better. Cliff was so raw he had to improve by default. But he never developed any offensive game. There have also been so many recruiting misses that most washed out early in their careers. I am sure there may be a few others that I have missed who Pike did develop, but it feels like a really short list over 9 years. I am not sure the notion of Pike as the great developer is really as true as people want to believe.

"Rutgers basketball's tip time at Washington is a Big Ten disgrace"

There are 6 teams in the Eastern Time zone. Scheduling should NOT be that hard.

RU has played 6:00 games at home, so why can't the four teams in the PCT, when playing the teams here have 6:00 tip offs? 9:00 is much more manageable. When those four teams are playing in the EST, its a 9:00 tip off our time when in the middle of the week.

Considering these games are joined up with a second game, one mid week and one on the weekend, its really shouldn't be a huge difficulty.
It's for TV.

BTN gets three games in one night, 6:30/8:30/10:30.

It's all about content. Fans that have to get to a 6:30 tip in NJ rush hour be damned. Fans having to stay up past midnight to watch a game be damned. All about the greed at the top.

Sources: SEC, Big Ten building momentum to further expand College Football Playoff to 14 or 16 teams

Expansion to 14 is idiotic. There are 4 rounds. Max it out at 16. Byes are really unfair in my opinion for football. There are not enough games to objectively compare two resumes and make a decision as massive as that. An extra game when there are only 12 games to begin with is a very big deal. Everyone in the playoffs should play the same number of games. At least in my opinion.
