48 Years Ago Today in Rutgers Football History

We won because of a call the officials made of "A Loose Ball Clip'. The call should not have been made. There is no such rule.
And we had a rallying touchdown vs. Arizona State off of an onside kick in the first Garden State Bowl cancelled because the kicker was offside. BTW, the kicker cannot be offisde on his kick.

I've seen plenty of critical calls go against the Scarlet Knights. So I'm not going to be picky about that game.

"Are More New Jersey Colleges Doomed to Collapse?"

I get the logic of going to an OOS public if you can't get into RU...but how many people outside of PA and maybe NJ have heard of these schools?

I don't know if these schools are attracting NJ students these days. The people I know who went there are my fellow millennials. Gen Z won't go if it's not on TikTok, lol,
Zoomers were losing their minds in that approximately 12 hours where TikTok went dark, lol. And yes, I'd bet money next to no one outside of NJ has heard of schools like Rider, Georgian Court, Centenary, etc., and they will be the most at risk to going under in the coming years.

I enjoyed the first season of the Bear but season 2- tried to hard to try to put each character into place to win awards again rather then tell a story. I couldn’t watch it
I ran into the actors playing Carmine and his girlfriend at the final game of the World Series. We shared an elevator ride down after the game ended. That dude is small; like under 5'6". He's apparently dating the actress in real life.

THE OFFICIAL 2024-2025 NET RANKINGS THREAD

I thought you thought MOV was irrelevant?

I kind of disagree yes. At 17-2 Drake is +1.0 WAB which means that roughly 40 teams would be expected to be 17-2 or better against that schedule.

I think it should be irrelevant, but since NET says it’s not, I’m pointing out that that shouldn’t be the reason their numbers are low in this case. NW is in the NET top 50 with several close calls against bad teams.

The bottom line is if what Chop was saying that the purpose of NET is to serve as a sorting tool, it’s failing in Drake’s case. 2-0 vs Q1 and 1-1 vs Q2 should be a very solid profile with only one Q3 blemish. For a 2 loss mid-major that should translate into solid positioning but the computers don’t like Drake for some reason. That was my point. The outputs seem less and less consistent each year to me.

Regarding WAB - yes, 41 seems way more reasonable and much more aligned with RPI’s output of 35 than NET’s output of 64.

@RUinPinehurst Rogue Heros was really good. Loved the sound track of AC/DC in it. For anyone interested it's on Amazon Prime for the next 8 days. It's a limited series(6 episodes) based on the origins of the SAS in North Africa during WW II. It's a mostly true story with some Hollywood embellishments.

I watched the first season and the new one is releasing episodes now, but apparently you can only watch it on something called MGM+. I refuse to sign up for a new streaming service, though!

Big Names at MSG for RU-MSU?

Winning this game and most of the remaining ones on the schedule would be better for the brand than the random appearance of some celebrity.

Why not both? Exposure to big names in the tri state and winning games are both great. No need to diminish one or the other. Having big names attend games means something to players, regardless how fans feel about it.

Not sure why some fans are being old men yelling at clouds over such a little thing.
