RAPID REACTION - Iowa

Kevin Willard surrounded his 5-star freshman center with three OUTSTANDING two-way guards who can both score and defend. Maryland will be a 6 seed.

Pike surrounded his two 5-star freshmen with a bunch of unathletic players who all have severe flaws. Rutgers will be watching March Madness from home and won’t even make the other tournaments.

This season has been an utter abomination, and Pike won’t survive it ultimately.
Very possible.

Ace and Dylan Attitudes

Dylan and Ace remind me of Daryl Strawberry on the Mets back in the day - when things were going good, and he was the toast of the town everything was great. When things weren't going good he wasn't mature enough to find a way to help the team, and instead became a distraction and an anchor around the teams neck. Maybe a bit harsh of an analogy, but if Ace and Dylan are not having a big spotlight game they both become net negatives and don't find ways to help this team win. I would expect more from the 2 best players on our team - freshman or not! Incredibly frustrating season.

RAPID REACTION - Iowa

I hate to keep bringing this up but I started a thread after the Kennesaw game on how it was a major red flag that we had multiple players laughing both at the end of the game and post game.

After losing to F’kin Kennesaw state.

Definitely a lack of culture and leaderhsip on this team, and unfortunately it starts at the top.
Yep. I saw the light after the tournament. Lost hope after that. It’s been a pretty easy season actually for me

I think the great thing about this season for the fans to realize is that it can’t ever get worse than this. It’s a nice feeling to know that every season after this one won’t be the worst rutgers basketball season we ever saw

Outscored by TWENTY at home, 2nd half, by a team WITH ZERO ROAD WINS coming in!!!

I don't even know where to begin....I really don't....so I'm gonna keep most of my thoughts to myself until after the season BUT I'll throw a few out there:

- it's 23 games into the season. The "youth" and "lots of new moving parts" thing is long over. Iowa was without TWO STARTERS tonight!!!

- our on-court basketball IQ is seriously lacking; some of the decisions or lack thereof, down the stretch, were just mind-boggling

- We have LOST any home court advantage in B1G play, WHATSOEVER, that we had for a few years with the Geo/RJH/McConnell era....The "Trapezoid of Terror," the past 3 seasons, has become "The Trapezoid of Tameness." Here we go:

2022-23 we go 0-3 at home to close out the season
2023-24 we go 5-6 in B1G play @ home
2024-2025 3-4 with SC/Minny left

THAT'S 8-13 in our last 21 B1G games in Piscataway which, IMHO, is pathetic.

...also the crowds, for the most part, have been blah. Big, yes, but "BLAH." (again...more thoughts on this after the season)

Pike lost this season when he brought in portal guys who simply lack the talent to play at level. Hate to write about players but they are all so limited on both sides of the ball. Can’t believe he wasted NIL on some of these players.

Pike outcoached. Again. Disgusted.

Maybe. Basketball, especially with two lottery picks, is players game. Pike sucked no doubt. But the players on the court giving half ass effort is on them.

Ace and Dylan are gone mentally. They are already wherever the draft is.

I never bet on Rutgers sports but I am very tempted to put some real money on Oregon. That's going to be a bloodbath.
Agree overall. But it's on all of them I would say.

Basketball Rutgers falls at home to Iowa, ends at-large hopes with poor second half

No interior defense whatsoever — on Pike.

Two of the most dynamic players in the country slowed down in a plodding offense — Pike.

In the bonus with 12 minutes to go in the second half — how many FTs the rest of the game? On Pike.

We’re gonna give up close to 50 in the second half.

I’m getting really close to being done with Pike.

Can we hire a friggin President & AD already????
Dylan plays slow and deliberate, its not the offenses fault
