The numbers of coaches is unlimited now (previously 10 then 11).
You can still only have 11 coaches "recruiting off campus".

So they may have to swap in and out who is "off campus recruiting" at any given moment.

But the number of coaches is fine.
I'll start a separate thread but we now have:
defensive HC
6 defensive coaches (Co-DC, Co-DC/LB,DE, DL, CB, S)
only 5 offensive coaches (OC/QB, RB, OL, TE, WR).

Not to mention the 2 de-commits who got away.....

I would normally agree with you on this but the ice/freezing rain factor can make the morning commute problematic and schools in a tough position on whether to delay or close. A bit more complex than usual.

1. New Head Coach

You provided 19 legitimate items that need to be addressed all of which have been a problem for multiple years.

If we are taking the time to list the top 5 of the 19 things that are wrong isn’t simply the head coach?

I agree with whay PSAL said: "Reading between the lines - we probably wanted Sparber as the linebackers coach. Sparber and Smith have the relationship from Duke and this arrangement was constructed. It allows Greg to roll the dice with an up and comer while retaining steady stability at the same time in bringing Rob back. I’m not why anyone should be upset."
I also think despite the firing Greg and Robb are friends and loyal to one another.
This gives Sparber a mentor as he learns the DC position at P-4 level and Smith can benefit from a good season this year when programs start hiring DCs for the 2026 season.
Seeing Smith spent the last 2 years as an analyst , he might not have been in demand as a DC and now
he might get back in the DC hunt if the RU D looks good in 2025

Learn to read the maps. The map color for most of CNJ denotes 1-2" of snow, therefore my statement in that post that up to 2" is possible for much of CNJ is reasonable: "All of these locations are forecast to get maybe an inch or so (up to 2" is possible for much of CNJ and everywhere N of 78) of snow/sleet late Wednesday evening through early Thursday..."

Also, they appear to have stopped using decimal places on their maps, so 1" is apparently 0.5-1.5", roughly, which combined with the 1-2" swath means places showing 1" could be 1"-1.5", which is exactly what we see if one looks at the point and click hourly graphic forecasts. As you said, Somerville is 1.3", Basking Ridge is 1.5", Edison is 1.2" and Hopewell is 1.1". As I said before in agreement with you, I think there will be more sleet than modeled and I'm not confident in places in CNJ reaching 2", but it is certainly possible.

In addition, below is a page from the NWS briefing, which proves my point that up to 2" is possible.

Yea again I have no issue with the hire. Kind of what I expected. Don’t understand why it took 2 months to get a retread and slap the retread with a co title. I wish him well. We know what to expect at least.

For sure. Between ‘19-‘20-‘22-‘23 Rutgers went 20-11, 15-11, 18-13 and 19-14. I would absolutely take that over 22-9, 17-9, 20-11 and 21-12 with a bunch of one-year guys.

The NCAA Tournament is the ultimate goal, but its also just one game. Watching the other 30 with a team I've grown attached to, hearing the RAC hum (I think there is a difference when the crowd resonates with the guys) and enjoying the development of four-year players is way more valuable to me.

We've already got regulators profiting off the industries they are supposed to be regulating, and lawmakers starting up their own NGOs to collect grant money through USAID. No conflicts there.

If a developmental program doesn't work in the B1G, what type of programs should Rutgers run? A Coach Prime football program and a Jerry Tarkanian basketball program?

Would be entertaining. Rutgers would sell more tickets at higher prices. Not sure Schiano and Pike could run programs with the pizzazz of Prime and Tarkanian though.
