OT: NY Rangers 2024-2025 Thread

They're a joke. At least the first in the JT deal is top 13 protected
That’s actually another Drury ****up. Nobody thinks there are anywhere near as many as 13 top players in this draft.

I would have rather given up any pick past 7 or 8 than draft 9-13 and give up an unprotected first next year which based on this team’s trajectory might be a better pick.

OT: Official 2025 PGA Tour thread

I have to admit the beginning of the PGA Tour was somewhat meh. I normally love the beginning of the season but weak fields and boring golf. Today finally is fun because of the field and weather! Big names on the course and a most entertaining fight against the fog, wind, drizzle... Golf is back or at least for today!
Only 18 of the top 50 there. Assuming you mean the big names in contention. I do like the elements. It’s the only fair thing to stop these players.

RAPID REACTION - Michigan

Are we cursed though? Acuff breaks his foot at the start of the season. Bailey misses the start due to injury. I’m guessing this caused the development of Grant and Dortch to be delayed. Then Harper is fully healthy for basically only 2 conference games. Our starting center goes out for the season right as he’s showing improvement. Also, they can’t stop getting the flu. WTF.
It sometimes feels that way doesn’t it?

Pike controls all these things don’t you know that?

RAPID REACTION - Michigan

1. Michigan did a fantastic job taking Ace Bailey out of the game. Denied the ball, swarmed him with double team when he got the ball, and had tall guys guarding him to make his shooting more difficult. Second Saturday in a row against a team from Michigan that Ace struggled. 4-17 last week, and 3-15 (0-7) this week. Game over. We just can’t win with neither of our superstars playing well.

2. The rest of the team wasn’t much better. Overall we shot 22-67 overall (32.8%), and 10-36 from three (27.8%). Michigan played a subpar game and was ripe for an upset, but we just couldn’t hit shots. Every time we cut the lead to 3 or 4, we would miss and Michigan would push back up to 6 or 7. Just could never get over the hump.

3. Michigan had 17 TOs and gave up 15 offensive rebounds, giving Rutgers many more possessions, and a whopping 21 more shots. But whereas we shot 22-67, Michigan was an efficient 22-46 (7-20) and hit 15-21 FTs. This was a workmanlike road win for the more talented team.

4. Humongous shout out to Jamichael Davis for a career day, leading Rutgers with 20 points on 8-14 FGs, including an impressive 4-7 from 3-pt range. He added 4 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 assists, and another 0 TO game. He also ran the offense well. I actually feel more confident in his ability to quarterback our offense, way more than JWill.

5. For anybody holding out a faint hope of a magical February run, this loss puts a stake in those hopes. We’re done from an NCAA at-large standpoint. Period. The goal now is to try and make a mini run to finish 9th in league, so we can get a single bye and hope for a magical BTT run.

6. But this all depends on a somewhat healthy Dylan Harper, and that’s a big question mark. If he’s out for much longer, or not effective upon his return, then we’re just playing out the string and maybe playing spoiler.
Good post as usual. As for your #1 point, yes Michigan did a decent job against Ace with their bigs, but he was left open at least a half dozen times and missed all of those open shots. As for the rest of the team, they’re bad shooting is par for the course. That’s who they are. If Ace was even mediocre today we this game.

Lastly, shoutout to JMike. He played his best game today and kept us in it.

OT: New ACC Deal To Reward Clemson and FSU?

FSU is a fine institution with great athletics but they are not a take for either the BIG or SEC because of the many stated reasons. For these reasons and the fact that the ESPN GOR signed by all ACC schools, including FSU, was not going anywhere and remaining in force. FSU was not paying $120MM to join the B12, P12 or MWC conference. FSU simply has no better options than to pipe down and play nice with the ACC in exchange for a few dollars more.

GO RU
They are currently not a take because they are in another conference, and it would be stupid Big Ten or SEC (as well as potentially cost them a boatload of money for tampering) to publicly comment that they would be a welcome addition

Also, there’s no piping down bc, if that’s what we did to begin with, the restructured contact for less years on the grant of rights and additional revenues would I’ve never been accomplished

Moreover, because we challenged the grant of rights and went public with our grievances to the league (which, as Ive stated a few times, was not the first choice as Michael Alford told the ACC two years ago at the meetings in Amelia Island that exactly was transpiring now was his stated goal, and they laughed it off only to a cave in two years later), we’re getting more money (albeit not guaranteed, we have to hit certain metrics and it still falls well short of what we need to compete long-term) as well equaly important (but was not in David Hale’s initial article, which is head scratching to put a mildly that he wouldn’t admit such an interval part of the restructured deal), of shortening the life of the grant of rights by five years, which would also shorten the buyout amount that could potentially need to get out a few years prior to 2031

My Pike critiques from today

And how many games this year did you bash Pike for exact opposite and playing Jwill or acuff to much? I remember there were many who said that those two should never see the floor and aren’t big ten players because they don’t contribute anything.
Dude. Did you watch scuff in the first half?? Ride the hot hand!
