Couple of thoughts…

Martini is going to play minutes at the 5. Especially vs smaller teams. He’s going to get starter minutes between 4-5 spots.

PJ is going to play a lot. I see him being the 6th man. He brings energy and shot making off the bench.

Pike is going to rely on Derkack as a defensive stopper.

I think Davis finds a way on the court but it will take someone taking a step back.

NBC Telecast.

I thought pbp was OK.

The analyst was lousy. Kept acting like Miller should catch nearly uncatchable passes(of course he did drop an easy one too). One play saying AK was pressured and had no where to throw it......when in reality he had plenty of time and a wide open miller, only to throw it high.

I say this is not as a critique of AK who I thought played a good game overall.

And then not knowing that the FG on 4th down is the obvious play there is just not knowing situational football. PBP should know it too, but analyst has to know it.

HUGE win on so many levels….

Let's get the bowl thing done next week with a win at Maryland and then go into the last two games with some Moxy.
Play like we did today and chance to win all 3.
Strong and Duff showed up big today and gives us a real chance to have a balanced offense the rest of the way.
Benjamin looked good filling in for KM. And what can you say about the depleted D, they played great for the last 3 quarters. 4 sacks, a fumble recovery and a safety.

No chatter about the upcoming game?

AK had a great game, not not a clean sheet. Horrible INT late in first half that could have been a dagger for MN. He has to get more consistent….but overall he did great.
Forgot about that. Video at the stadium appeared to show the DB’s foot was on the line. I saw a post on X that said he was in so I need to watch tomorrow since I recorded the game.

OT: New York Yankees 2024-2025 Off Season Thread

Boone isn't the problem. He goes by the playbook the nerds in the analytics room force feed him. Cashman and the nerds are the entire problem. Strikeouts and lack of fundamental skills is fine with them as long as the Yankees lead the league in home runs.
Back in 1998 when Cashman was elevated to GM but Joe Torre still ran the team, from the dugout and on the field, it was old fashioned baseball. Make your plate appearances count, drive up the pitching count and strike outs were not the equivalent to any other out.

1998 stats
WAR 39.4
PA - 6444
AB - 5643
Hits - 1625
HR - 207
SO - 1013
Avg - .289

2024 stats
WAR 30.3
PA - 6245
AB - 5450
AB - 1352
Hits - 1352
HR - 237
SO - 1326
Avg - .248

So Cashman analytics increased home runs by 30 but destroyed every other offensive category!!

Baseball is much different today than it was in 98, you can't just go by stats. Judges numbers in 98 he would have finished 3rd in HR and 7th in HR rather than leading the league in both.
