Like the Men, the Women's Team opens the season at a tourney hosted by a B1G rival. Along with RU and Wisc, B1G teams competing are Iowa and Nebraska. Last year's champ USF is also entered in the 13 team field.
Also like the men, the team will be replacing 4 year starters in multiple RU record holder Leigha Devine and 2 time tourney champ, Rikke Nordvik.
Last season saw the team struggle thru the Fall dropping at 1 point to I believe a ranking of #113. The Spring saw major improvement with team championships at the Rutgers Inv and in their first ever post season appearance, winning the Golfweek National Invitational out in Arizona and a final national ranking of #84 out of 276 D1 programs.
Returning for her senior year is Lucrezia Rossettin (Italy). She will be joined by her sister, Sophmore Lorena. Both were major contributors to the Spring success and will be leaned on heavily this season. Lorena had 3 Top 10's in the Spring while Lucrezia finished Top 20 twice. Joining them will be Sophmores Emily James and Krystal Li. James, from Wales, played her best in the 2 Wins with Top 10 finishes. Li, from Canada, contributed a Scoring Round in the Golfweek National win.
Joining them are 2 transfers and 2 Frosh. Grace Lu, from Edison, comes back to NJ from William and Mary where she had the 3rd best Frosh scoring average in school history. She sat out '23-'24. Grad Transfer Kayla Diaz (Calif) come to RU after a great career at D3 Drew U. D3 formats are different than D1. Many events are 1 or 2 round with some 1 vs 1 rather than multiple team 3 Rounders. Diaz shined in all formats, finishing 1st 16 times including 9 in 1 season. She was conference rookie, champ, and player of the year. In her 1 appearance in the NCAA D3 championship, she finshed 17th out of over 150 entered and a final ranking of 18th.
The 2 Frosh are Judy Amano (Japan by way of HS in Fla) and Canada's Joline Truong. Truong Has multiple Top 5's in Am tourneys across Canada and the US. She also represented Ontario in team events. Amano rose thru the rankings between her Jr and Sr years. She was ranked #44 International HS Sr by Junior Golf Scoreboard.
Last year the B1G was a decent conference with 7 teams selected to play in the NCAA's. All 4 new members also qualified. UCLA, USC, and Oregon all made the Final 4 with UCLA losing to Stanford in the Finals. The conference is now a bear with 6 teams in the Golfweek preseason Top 25....

#24 Michigan St
#25 Ohio St.
RU will face UCLA and Washington this Fall.
