Hikers of TKR,

I'm planning an overnight hiking trip with my 19 year old daughter, who is less a hiker than me but wants to try an overnight trip. I'm looking for camping locations along the Appalachian Trail, but see very few. I see one near Sunfish Pond at the DWG, a hike that I've done a few times and think my daughter can manage. Any other suggestions for campsites along the AT? Or, any other hiking trail in the State, for that matter? I'd like to keep the two-day hike at about 16 miles total and can manage either a loop or linear hike. A primitive site would be fine; we plan on sleeping in hammocks or on the ground. Thanks in advance.

Our controversial-yet-beloved breakfast meat is the star of National Pork Roll Day, May 23, so to celebrate, take a look at these pork roll facts and stories then go get yourself a PRECSPK (Don't speak Jerseyan? That's a pork roll, egg and cheese with salt, pepper and ketchup.)

• Created in the mid-1850s by John Taylor, pork roll — a blend of pork, spices, salt and sugar — was originally called Taylor ham. In the early 1900s, changes in FDA guidelines regarding the definition of ham necessitated a name change. Taylor's Trenton-based Taylor Provisions Company sells Taylor brand pork roll and sliced ham.
• In 2016, New Jersey Assemblyman Tim Eustace introduced a bill to declare the pork roll, egg and cheese the state sandwich of New Jersey. A sister bill did the same, but for Taylor ham.
• There is a store in New Jersey dedicated to pork roll: The Pork Roll Store & More in Upper Freehold Township sells its own brand, Johnston Pork Roll, and has been open for more than a century.
• If you really like pork roll, try the Slater Slider at Slater's Deli at Slater's Deli in Middletown: The sandwich has six thick slices of pork roll, two eggs, potatoes and four slices of cheese. In Ocean County, Jovo's Deli in Brick makes their Fat Jovo with at least four layers of pork roll, egg and cheese.
• Pork roll curls when you cook it? Cut four small notches around the edges and it will cook flat.

Been busy with work today (and did not hear it), but saw reports from Bergen County to Ocean County of a loud boom around 11:20 AM today. Saw some speculation it was a fireball/meteor or sonic boom from a military jet offshore. Anyone hear it?

The combined power of ESPN, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery new streaming services will kick off at $42.99 a month. I believe they want you to subscribe for a year to experience all it has to offer. That is equal to over $500 just for one streaming service. People may have issue with trying to pay for multiple streaming services that will cost more than cable at it's worse. I didn't mention paying for Internet service on top of this.

I'm under the impression ESPN is pushing this more than it's partner as a way to generate money since Disney is not in favor of unlimited bankrolling ESPN like in the past. Fubo has filed a lawsuit against the group as it tries to start a similar service in the past, but was shot down by the Big 3. I don't think we'll see the start of the service until this is resolved and the cost will be a problem too. Who wants to almost $50 a month for one streaming service.
