You're not missing anything. We've got one 5 star guy, in my mind, and three decent backups that will hopefully develop into much more.

Where's Rutgers? Am I missing something here?

What he said. Our scholarship recruiting class was essentially 1 guy this year. We have a very unbalanced roster, age wise. This is something the staff should look to "fix" over the next few years.

But overal our roster is solid right? I know we have 1 really good commit

Just for the hell of it I went and looked at the last 8 years (2017 - 2010) of Intermat Recruiting Rankings. Below is a breakdown of how many times a team has been ranked in the top 25.

8 - Iowa, Ok St, Penn St, Virginia Tech
7 - Lehigh, Minnesota, Nebraska, tOSU, Okla
6 - Cornell, Illinois, Michigan, Virginia
5 - Indiana, Iowa St, Rutgers, Stanford, Wisconsin
4 - Az St, Maryland, Missouri, NC, NC ST, Northwestern, Old Dominion, Princeton, Purdue
3 - Central Michigan, Drexel, Northern Iowa, Pittsburgh, Utah Valley
2 - Binghamton, Cal Poly, Edinboro, Harvard, Michigan St, North Dakota St, Ohio, Oregon St, Penn, South Dakota St, West Virginia
1 - Army, Boise, Brown, Bucknell, Buffalo, Cal Statebakersfield , Clarion, Fresno St, Lock Haven, Navy, Rider

Our roster for this year
125 - No clue
133 - Chance of AA (possible nationals as backup)
141 - Chance of Top 4 AA
149 - No clue
157 - Likely AA (likely AA redshirting as well)
165 - 2-3 guys who could make nationals
174 - Likely nationals, way outside chance at AA
184 - Likely AA
197 - Likely nationals
285 - Likely nationals

This will be our best tournament showing in years if everybody is healthy and happy. I see a chance of 4 AAs if things go right with some blood round guys possible too.

Appreciate the info. I follow the team, but rarely check the eligibility. Thank you

Obrats keeps a great depth chart (and recruiting info) spreadsheet on somewhere in the "Wrestling Depth Chart" thread that's pinned to this board. Check it out!

PhilaPhans - You are more optimistic than I am. You are right that on paper we may have our best team in years if not ever. And we could have 8 or 9 national qualifiers. However, the competition next year will be tougher. Check the projected line-ups of PSU, TOSU, OSU, Cornell, Virginia Tech, NCState, Lehigh, Arizona State, Missouri, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and even Northwestern. It will a difficult challenge to get four All Americans. Many outstanding kids are coming off redshirt years. Iowa may have a down year for them. Can't see who else will have a down year. Maybe Obrats can comment.
