The third of the 2017 South Jersey offers issued on Saturday was Salem's Jonathan Taylor. He was coached the last two years by former Rutgers RB Dennis Thomas who has taken the head job at Millville this off season. Thomas was in attendance at the camp on Saturday, great guy and has told his protege nothing but great things about Rutgers.
You really don't gather a ton about running backs at these camps but in drills, Taylor seemed to showcase pretty good agility and while he doesn't seem 100% comfortable catching the football, he did a pretty good job of catching the ball during 1 on 1's. He comes off a bright, very coachable prospect who received a lot of Norries Wilson's attention during drills and one on one's.
The buzz with Taylor is that many people expect him to have a breakout junior season, similar to the one current Wisconsin RB Corey Clement had a few year ago when he rushed for over 2,000 yards.
