FDU, Temple, Providence, Monmouth, LaSalle and Princeton ALL at home to open the season. This SHOULD be an fairly easy 6-0 start and a GREAT confidence-builder for the younger part of the roster before meeting current #11 Georgetown on the road then starting B1G play with a home match against #10 PSU.

I wouldn't put anything in the bag yet. That's why they play the games. Princeton can be very tough. Monmouth is no push over. Don't know anything about Providence except that they were 7-2-3 last year.

I get where you’re coming from but 6-0 start against this schedule with our roster, should be expected, and I sure as hell hope the coaching staff feels the same way. Time to step up and show that we are championship worthy, every game, from the get-go.

Try to never get ahead of myself & count my chickens before they're hatched. And I'm sure the coaching staff believes that you have to take one game at a time & isn't taking anything for granted.

Of course they do, and of course they wouldn’t, but you’ll be fooling yourself to think that they don’t expect to be victorious in each of those games. Again, it’s time to start acting like big boy programs, and you don’t do that by not thinking you can’t go into the Georgetown game undefeated. Bottom line.

4-0….still first half…this is what I’m talking about! Sun out the entire starting team for the 2nd get that experience early!!!

This is fun. I love obliterating a vastly inferior team. Let's get the freshman and backups some valuable experience in the 2nd half and get ready for Temple on Sunday night.

Suit yourself.

Suit yourself.
lol okay…God forbid I want and expect the best from our programs and hope they have the same attitude and expectations…1-0. Easily. That’s what we BOTH want, right?

BTW- We all know anything can happen on any given day, and that’s OK, so long as it’s not for the same reasons that we become accustomed to in the past. I am far, far far more confident in this roster right now, and seeing what the coaching staff is doing thanks to you guys, that I have been in previous years. You should be too my friend!

Tiernan’s goal - WOW - No that is not the type of scoring we are not accustomed to! An absolute rocket from that spot over the keepers head? Just wow!

Our next opponent on Sunday night, Temple, lost 3-0 to Maryland who is predicted to finish last in the B1G. Wouldn't shock me if we have our way with the Owls on Sunday night as well.

this team is talented...holy crap

havent seen Mike's team move the ball like this in...well, ever.

LOL
This team is extremely talented and really the sky is limit. They have the talent to overcome the B1G grind and Mike's poor game planning and make a run to our conference title. Make no mistake though, the changes you are seeing came from a message that was delivered in the brief offseason. Happy to see that message was received by MO.

Has far less to do with any message rather than with having these kinds of horses for the first time ever in his tenure.

agreed 90% he is also playing 3 forwards instead of leaving Amirah on an island by herself but you are right just adding Frankie and Riley just changes the whole dynamic and although it was FDU the team speed is incredible!!

I definitely don't want to get into a message board argument but what we saw or at least what I saw yesterday is not just due to having personnel. Looked like some major philosophy changes as well. I'm going to leave this alone as I don't want to stir up trouble but I said to my friend who I watched the game with that something clearly changed in terms of mindset.

In my humble opinion the difference we saw on the field is not just due to having more Talent. This team has been loaded with talent for a long time (not this loaded but loaded enough to play how we played yesterday).

Exactly, you hit it on the head. You don't need to be Carli Lloyd to see that there clearly was a philosophical change and adjustments made in the offseason.

No comparison in talent, especially offensive talent, & I've watched them closely for years.

Yeah lots of pure soccer talent was the major adjustment. Never had anything like this.

Wait...haven't we been talking about the change in the alignment on the field? Which will take advantage of the speed and talent on this roster? I would most definitely call that a "change in offensive philosophy."

I respect your insights and experience and always read your posts...i do.

and I think we're more agreeing than disagreeing. I guess it comes down to areas of grey.

I mean how much more talented? Let's pretend this is top 10 talent (and based on what I saw yesterday, I think that's the floor...could be even higher), we've been a top 15-25 team for several years. Does that gap qualify as "no comparison". Personally, I dont think so.

Now, I do agree that talent is not linear. We haven't had the speed i saw last night maybe ever. That's game changing for sure.

like I said, I don't want to argue...and I will defer to you and watch more closely.

last night was the most fun I had watching a Rutgers soccer game since the teams from the early 90s. yes it was just one game but my hopes are high.
