3 new guys after their first full team workout

Temper your expectations my friends no one but us offered Bullock. Not one other D1 school offered. if he plays major minutes this year lots of coaches should be fired since many D1 coaches saw him play and none of them offered.

Lots of guys get missed and slip through the cracks. Devin McCourty's a good example.

It's not about whether he'll be starting or not - it's about if he can contribute. We literally have 3 scholarship guards besides him, so unless you want those 3 playing the whole game (and that's assuming no injuries) or someone playing out of position, he's going to have to play.
Barring injuries our three guards will take more than seventy of the eighty minutes so we are talking less than ten minutes a game. Plus the coach has already said that Thiam can play both guard positions if need be in a pinch. Lastly there will be times where his bulk can be used as an asset in short stretches. Its all about matchups.

To go .500 you need to do something like 11-3/5-13. That is a tough ask for this Rutgers team. A bunch of teams "at the bottom" of the B1G should be improved. Northwestern, PSU and Illinois all should be better. Minnesota likely gets better as well. Nebraska should slide a bit. Not sure Iowa slides enough for them to finish behind us. B1G wins are going to be tough to come by.

I really like Pikiell and think this staff is really good. This team will be well coached, but how kids respond to that coaching remains to be seen. I'm not even sure if Coach Pikiell gets everything out of this squad that it would be good enough to get to .500.

Adrian Dantley was a pro baller and champion. I'd love to be wrong but let the kid learn and grow. If Bullock plays a lot our talent level must be really low. Remember this kid played for a basketball power and some of his teammates are going to big time schools. This kid was seen by everyone and he got nothing and we fire our coach and now we offer. Let's hope the facilities get built that is our only hope.

Again sir, Pikiell brought in Bullock to open up a pipeline. If he succeeds at getting Bullock to be a big ten player, the linden coach buys in and sends another one of his players to Piscataway.

Not that hard. Also, not many players offered him because he is a very unorthodox player. He plays a 2 guards game with a power forwards mindset. Some coaches are not creative enough to find a way for him to succeed.

Higs, just to clarify, Bullock is from Roselle Catholic. But we would like Phil C. From Linden to send us some players too.

I meant to correct that, but just did not get to it. Andre Rafus, etc.Come one, come all.

It makes sense. Pikiell really connected with Phil Colicchio of Linden. Linden and Roselle Catholic have split 6 games over the last two years in the toughest conference in the state. RC, St. Patrick and Linden were all rated in the top 5 teams in the entire state. Pikiell is very interested in Tavon Jones of Linden who made 2nd team ALL State this past season as only a soph.

As someone who is really high on Bullock, what is your reasoning on why he was not that heavily recruited?I am fine with the decision and think it has a lot of potential, I am just curious.

I've seen Bullock play about 6-8 times and have been impressed with his toughness, his rebounding and scoring. He isn't the fastest guy in the world so many teams probably thought because of his height he would be a guard and possibly might have trouble staying with people. I saw a guy who will not back down from anyone, can shoot pretty good from the outside and can easily dunk even though he is a very big guy and is only 6'4". I never said he would be a star at our level but the guy was first team All State for all divisions included by the Star Ledger. He was the leader of a Roselle Catholic team that won the TOC in 2015 and has won several state championships. I believe he can play a little guard as well as some small forward and possibly can even out muscle some power forwards for a few minutes every once in a while. I hope he plays some minutes and hopefully will become a fan favorite.

Thank you for your input, Art. I believe the same. I say keep him at his weight and let him play small forward. He has that mentality and that should be used to his advantage. Add another rebounder who can also shoot. At 2 guard at this level he would probably not be fast enough.
