***4-Star Patrice Rene commits to Rutgers***

Nice get. Stars DO matter to me although I don't care where they come from. Hopefully Flood can pull in a few more.

Let's dance... put on your red (scarlet) shoes ... not them ugly orange ones... [cheers]

From what I read recently, we didn't beat out OSU

His final 2 were Rutgers and OSU. He was hoping for the OSU offer to be committable when he camped there last week but it never happened so he committed to RU this week. We beat out the rest but not OSU.He really wanted to go to OSU.

if that is so, it is still fine by me.....we are recruiting and getting a Ohio state quality player.....they were giving him a serious look, but not enough space

Thank you sir, We'll have. The Patrice Rene '16 Red, sounds like an awesome vintage!

As a Cuse fan. Great get for Rutgers. Rene is a stud. Rutgers doing a great job recruiting Canadian players. #Props
Nice seeing the classy Cuse fans like Money around who keep it real...we all have rational friends in the tri state area who are Cuse fans but keep the bs to a minimum...Moneys like us..just loves football.

Not sure why people are perpetuating this. He definitely choose not to go there.

No one here knows if he had a commitable offer at the very end.....he was brought in for a work out by Ohio state and did well, by all reports, and we all know they were considering offering

You, me everybody else here are speculating beyond that.....you don't go by the check mark on the profile page of the player, indicating an offer, it often does not tell the entire story

So if no one knows, I would recommend staying away from saying osu ran out of space for him.

It seems that for some RU fans, there is just no way we could have beat out the all mighty OSU/Meyer for a recruit they actually wanted.
First, let's give Coach Meyer credit for being able to recognize talent and not being a stupid football person. So with that said, he wants Rene to come to FNL and prove himself. By ALL accounts, Rene shows up and dominates national ranked WR's. I mean, dominates them. U. Meyer is not going to watch that performance and say "hey, I can wait on the hopes I get the other guys I want" Plus, given the fact that Rene/Fuller have position flexibility. CB/S.
Report comes out that Rene was already a silent commit to us and Flood was more then happy to "insist" Rene go to FNL. Go back a couple of weeks, even this board was discussing that they had heard Rene had wanted to commit to us then but Flood wanted him to go visit OSU.

I think it ended up going the other way...OSU did want a commit from him but he is the one who said no thanks...

Nice get guys! I listened to him talk on Friday night during the Ottawa vs Montreal game. He's very well spoken and is a very determined football player.

I hope he can recruit a few more studs for you guys for 2016. Beat out MD/PSU for some guys.

I've been a fan of RU since I heard you guys were going to join the B1G. I follow your recruiting and this board quite a bit and I hope you guys slowly build to be kings in the northeast.

Again, great get and good luck this season!

It's my humble opinion that Nebraska fans are one of the great things about being in the B1G.

Welcome Patrice, Look forward to seeing you in scarlet. We are building something special here and you are a part of that. Congrats young man.
