So you are certain he had a commitable offer because of a hat?..... I would not doubt that many a player had a hat on the table without a firm offer....
As blitz mentioned, there was a report on the round table suggesting the offer might not have truly been there..... He came to the camp performed well and was considered and that was that.
.. Players get offers, then the program backs off if they get another strong prospect, then come back strong on a player and on and on
It is you that should rethink how this stuff goes down
For the record, I hope that he really did have that offer, but we will never know for sure, and I really don't care.
What we know is that he was a Ohio state worthy player in a year that they won the championship, and that is more than enough for me
I suggest you drop it just because no one knows and you certainly can't say or do anything else on it

Last post on this....invest in the round table for more detailed info on all recruiting matters.... I guess you will believe in what you want, with less info provided to you, others here have seen what is mentioned on the pay site

But an OSU fan posted the offer received wasn't a committable offer which implies Patrice couldn't have committed to the Buckeyes if he wanted to .
Now that fact seems to be backed up by a statement implying the Round table has info that backs Rene's offer wasn't one that he could take right away, but more like an unofficial offer saying they were interested in him but not interested to allow him to commit.
Can't say one way or another, recruiting has changed and maybe uncommittable offers are given out now and marked on recruiting sites like rivals as offers without saying those offers are worthless if the recruit wants to commit.
With all that BS flowing through my mind: I yearn for the days that I would hear: "never offered" and be able to check out the recruiting sites to see if that statement was true.
Now "never offered" has been replaced by " it wasn't a committable offer" and I don't have a way to check out the accuracy of that statement, only know it is reasonable to think recruiting has evolved into something that offers are not like they used to be.

I could care less if he had a commitable offer or not to OSU. He's committed to RU. That's all I care about.
