Goal #1 for me this year was to not be last place. That goal is nearly achieved.

Goal #2, which I thought we would achieve next year, was to be .500 for the season. I'm with Shack. Let's do it now. We sit at 13-14 with 3 regular season games left to play and the B1G Tournament to follow.

@ Iowa
vs Penn State
@ Indiana

2-1 to close out the regular season. 1-1 in the B1G Tournament (minimum).

16-16 on the year.

If we achieve Goal #2 this year, I'll gladly jump on the "we make NCAAs next year" bandwagon.

I think we take Penn State and very possibly Indiana. Iowa, I think, is too good at home.

This is a good scenario but I'd prefer 19-16.

The league is proving itself to be very good...Penn State winning 5 of 7, now can have a game vs RU, where the RU fan doesn't walk into the RAC with some sort of entitlement, thinking they show up and win by 6 to 8 points.

PSU is playing lights out and their frosh are matching or exceeding the production of RUs, during this winning trend. It will be a tough game because both teams have tough road assignments this weekend. PSU has Wisconsin and RU at Iowa.

PSU finishes at home with Illinois so it's not out of the question that they could get to 7 and 13, if RU doesn't take care of business at the RAC....this is assuming PSU doesn't win at Madison on Saturday.

I actually think Iowa will be the easiest of the 3. We outplayed them 10 days ago, they got lucky and their defense stinks. Yeah they are home, without their head coach but I like our matchups. Penn State was a nip and tuck affair that was an ugly game that we won at the end. That was before Penn State has gone on this run and is scoring and defending at a high level. It will be the toughest of the 3 games. Indiana to my amazement has not thrown in the towel after we beat them. They played really hard and probably should have beat Purdue losing 48-46, played even better and had Iowa beat until Bohanon who had 3 points up to the last 2 minutes hit 5 threes at the end of the game and in OT, and they just beat Wisconsin in double OT.

You're crazy if you think Iowa will be the easiest of the three games. They actually played pretty good defense against us, including giving us lots of trouble with the full-court press. But most importantly, you cannot underestimate the difference in playing at home versus on the road. Iowa is 14-3 at home, and 4-4 on the road; and we are 10-6 at home, and 3-8 on the road -- but NONE of our three road wins was in an intimidating or raucous environment (Miami, PSU, Northwestern).

This will be a stiff road test in a difficult environment (Carver Hawkeye Arena is a tough place in which to play) against a team that can absolutely light it up on offense. I can't see us winning the game.

Of the scenarios, I'll take 2-1 in the last 3. Iowa game is very important to achieve that. I think the Indiana game is the toughest.

According to Bart....
#76 Rutgers
10.1 underdog in Iowa 17%
1 point underdog at home vs PSU 46%
5.1 point underdog in Indiana 29%

GRF says.....
We lose by double digits in Iowa
We lose by 7 at home vs. PSU
We beat Indiana on the road by 9 and clinch the 10 seed

That also means PSU loses at home to Illinos to blow the 10th seed

I guess we will see but that Carver Hawkeye arena was the same place that the last place Northwestern team was up 14 with 2 and half left before they blew it, and the same place that Indiana team had a late lead up 3 with 15 seconds left and Bohanon hit a three to tie it, then went nuts in overtime. So although you think I AM CRAZY , I think we have a very decent shot at winning. By the way Iowa’s defense sucks.

In addition to all those things it's Senior Night and without their coach they will be fired up. We need to survive the first eight minutes and then we'll see if it's a game.
B1G 10 basketball venues can be extremely intimidating.
If anybody thinks Assembly Hall in Indiana is going to be easy you're out of your mind.

Guess what, it turned out easier than I thought. I guess I was not crazy after all. If it wasn’t for the refs , we would have won by 25. We were the better team 2 weeks ago and the better team today.
