ABC said there are reports that Rutgers will be reunited with Greg Schiano. Hobbs said no offers have been made but he used a Schiano-ism. Is that a hit that the reports are true?

When he was asked to comment on the list of potential candidates, did he say...

"That's some pretty good stuff right there"?

Do you honestly believe that Hobbs is familiar with "Schianoisms"? Com'on XP...sorry I'm cracking up...and I don't really know why!

We're just gonna keep chopping away to find the new leader of our family...

Actually what he said.

No way. Did he really say that?!

(Sorry ... like most people, my sarcasm meter is completely broken right now.)

He said he has a bunch of candidates in mind, but has to watch the film on them before he proceeds.

I would be very disappointed if Schiano got the nod. There are better game day coaches and better recruiters that can win on a big stage. All this drama for a political insider with limited AD experience and a former coach who had one 10-2 season in 10 or 11 years. Why doesn't Rutgers change direction for a proven winner like Rodriguez or Kiffin. Heck I would take Rhule or Golden over Schiano.

Most disagree with you.

If he has been talking with Schiano he will pick them up. I would have expected Hobbs to say "it will take a little time", not "I can't put a timeline on it".

Kiffin is hardly a proven winner.
Maybe not but he has improved dramatically over the past couple of seasons with Saban. I also believe he would poach 4 & 5 star recruits in NY, NJ, PA, MD and VA. and that's half the battle. I'm grateful for what Schiano did here but he's not the answer if we're serious about trying to win a Rose Bowl.

" This is a special place. We will find that special coach with God given talent and welcome to our family. Absolutely must be a Rutgers men with integrity, morals and above all, love football. But we must build on a solid foundation, so we can't just rush this search. You see, it's a process..."

OMG that quote is the kiss of death. Translation: All we're looking for is consistant 6-6 or 7-5 season with a 10-2 sprinkled in every 20 years. We're doomed.

Hopefully one day our best will be good enough to beat the best.

As long as we're better in December than we were in september

One thing is for sure. The next coach is going to get killed when he starts using coachspeak.
Or when he pulls out a notepad to take some notes during the game. Or when he shakes hands with the opposing coach after losing two in a row. Or when he starts Laviano. LOL

When the reporters gathered to ask Hobbs about it, Hobbs demanded they confine themselves to that little dugout area by the portajohn and ask from there.

Hobbs said that one day our coaching search will be good enough to beat the best coaching searches
