Absolute disgrace: ALL on you Pikes

I was thinking the same as Nuts. I thought we were more athletic and needed the something to break their momentum and get them out of their comfort zone. Plus we weren't a good half court team today and we needed to play a helter skelter style. When wevdid press it worked.

Basically we are looking at 7-5/5-15 for a 12-18 season..that's was my preseason prediction...

I know mine was similar but I’m staring to wonder whether it will happen. Columbia and Maine at home SHOULD get us two more wins, which means we have to get 4-5 conference wins to get us to 11 or 12.

I know one thing, I will not be so happy if Pikiell posts his third straight last place finish in a 14-team league. At some point, you have to outcoach other teams as you build them.

Rutgers matches up well with Seton Hall. They have equal players at almost every position. Powell is dominant. Eugene can outplay Mamu or Nzei.

Still, the Pirates are coming off a big win.

I expect a very close game. Rutgers has had a trend of showing up for very big games, and not showing up for small games. This will play to their favor.

I'm not too sure of that.

McKnight is a ball hawk and can contain Baker. They also have a good backup pg in Nelson

Who will guard Powell? Kiss can't

Mamu and Nzei are better offensively than the RU bigs

Eugene has been trying to do too much lately and forcing shots.

Rutgers will have to hit their outside shots and Baker will have to have a career day

Just made a thread about this. Mamu better than Omoruyi? Not sure about that. Don't buy too much into the win versus an overrated UK team yesterday. Admittedly, I was more confident about this game before yesterday. Seton Hall has shown more as of the past couple games.

Eugene does have to work on his fouling. Eugene has still been more efficient than it seems from the field and three point line.

Fordham is 7-2, they aren't that bad of a team. Those 2 losses, Nick Honor stepped up his game big after losses, lost to Houston Baptist, went for 28 against FIU and won, lost to Maine, went for 29 and beat us. Give him credit for being that kind of player. Cobb, Portley, and Bunting are solid players. They won't be last in the A-10, La Salle and GWU have that covered. Give them credit they were more ready to play coming off a bad loss.

Side note-- Doorson was invisible yesterday 15 minutes 0-1 2 Blocks 4 PF. He looked very slow with their bigs in this matchup. Should have went Doucoure and more Shaq Carter, Myles Johnson was a foul machine, 3 PF in 3 minutes.

They played a good game but let us not confuse them with anything other than a bad team in the context of even the most modest of long-term program goals for RU. But it is just one game. This doesn't define the Pikiell era but we can't unsee it now

After every good effort people start predicting 20 plus wins. After every bad loss, people predict armageddon scenarios. bac's prediction is most likely...

Mathis should guard Powell

I predicted 17-13, I'm sticking with it, 8-2 non, 9-11 B1G. I think there is a stretch of B1G games they can come together at the right time and win 4-5 in a row.

Yes there's always the hope that SH is so poorly coached that RU will have a significant edge on the bench.

totally disagree...they were barely beating dregs and lost to Maine and Houston Baptist, the guard played a great game but the idea that Fordham isnt bad is pure spin and bunk...they will finish last or next to last in A10 with about 11 wins.

I just don’t see how people think we can get 9 B1G wins. I like the roster, but I feel like this is one of the reasons people get so bent out of shape when we lose games. The B1G improved a lot this year. If we win nine conference games this year, I’ll throw a damn parade. We’re 0-2 in conference. You’re essentially saying we’ll go 9-9 the rest of the way. Next conference game is against Maryland. Five to six wins and competing is what I want. I love the optimism, I just hope you are aware of what we’re up against

Agree with this. Fordham sucks. It’s a bad loss. We say it was a horrible loss and not get bent out of shape

I think the key will be splitting that Maryland/OSU homestand...tall order...well if RU played at the level they played UW and MSU they can win one of those games...get that and I think they can get 4 among the group of Penn State at Penn State, Illinois, Nebraska, Northwestern, Indiana, Iowa, at Iowa, at Northwestern, Minnesota

I was incredibly pissed and disappointed over the loss...see my thread but now I am ready to move on. One game doesnt indicate how the season will go, just like one great performance doesnt indicate how the season will go. Team will have to toughen up against SHU and I expect the effort to be there. Whether we win is another story.

can anyone give Fordham and their guard "some " credit??

I'm with you on this. This is how you beat a better team, which we are. You have a kid who is LIGHTS OUT and the team feeds off them. After we fought back and took the lead I'm pretty sure they didn't miss another shot including some ridiculous 30 ft. type 3s. It sucks, it's a bad loss, but credit to Fordham who just played an insane half of basketball.

SHU actually has a backup point guard that Willard gives minutes to.

Pikiell should have done the same.

Fordham has 4 decent opponent in Dec., we will see how the fare. Home to 9-2 NJIT, 6-3 Howard, 7-5 JMU and 5-4 LIU-BK.
