We could sure use him given our current depth chart at WR (5 seniors!). It's up to Harbaugh whether he's allowed to transfer inside the B1G, though. Reading through the mods tweets/retweets, it seems as though Temple (close to home) and Arkansas (where his bro plays) could be the favorites.

He isn't going to another B1G school. Nor I am I sure we would even want him given what is going at Michigan.

More than close to home, he is apparently very tight with Barthel, which should have the Owls in play if he passes their vetting.

Interesting. Any news as to what he was suspended for at Michigan?
Michigan board wrote that he was in "(Michigan player name from 2015)-like" trouble......which I then googled and saw (player name) was said to have a marijuana issue before transferring.

Honestly, while that kind of team rule violation might be An understandable reason to have a guy be persona non grata, compared to Baylor, it's not really scandalous. But it is the kind of thing you probably don't welcome to transfer into your program when your in the midst of a culture change.

Temple probably is his destination,it's up to Ahmir to prove to the Owl staff ( or staff of the school he ends up at) that they didn't make a mistake in accepting him.
Hope he straightens out , but if he don't that's on him .
As far as his college football career , hope injury free and that's it.

I'm not a marijuana advocate at all, but these guys bash heads together all day long every day, and they take god knows how many prescription pain killers, anti inflammatories, etc.., but you smoke a little marijuana and suddenly you are 'trouble'. I don't necessarily buy it....

Even if Harbaugh allows a transfer within the B1G isn't it a 2 year sit out period? If I'm right, that would say Temple to me.

If he wanted to be close to home, as some of you say, why didn't he pick RU or Temple in the first place?

That's at least 4 4 stars or greater that couldn't make it there over the years. Most are destined for failure.

Very shortly there will be no Jersey recruits going to Michigan after the rumors spread. It take several years before anotherJersey recruit took a chance on Michigan, probably Pepper.

Quick someone page Partridge and tell him there is a problem with his zipline! NJ2AA2?

No explanation as to what he was suspended for but appears he had no interest in getting out of the dog house. He was not allowed to practice with the team and class had not started but at 18 or 19 years old tweeting from a bar at 2AM a few weeks after tweeting a pic with a fist full of money, which may have earned his suspension was just not wise.
I'm surprised a kid focused enough to be an early enrollee went off the rails so fast. Red shirt this year and 4 years of eligibility. Don't think Mich will stop him from transferring in or out of the B1G.
Hope he matures and has a great career. All but assures Mich. takes 4 WR this year.
He is a bit of a gamble bit I think Rutgers should take a shot.

You may be missing the obvious. No one has ever lost a scholarship over smoking "a little" marijuana. There's either repeated offenses after being told not to or more to the story like the alleged credit card thing.

He thought Zingermans was overrated and overpriced. Heard he's a cheesesteak kind of guy.

After what happened here last year, no way could I see Mitchell coming to Rutgers in any feasible fashion.

The BIg Ten rule is he would have to sit a year and lose a year of eligibility, so if he transferred within conference he would have four years left to play three starting next season.

I find this rule absurd. Another scr*w the player while coaches rake it in and can jump to another program anytime they want. The double standard is ludicrous in college footbal.

Even if he was eligible to transfer here, I would not touch with a ten foot pole. Our recent record of NJ athletes that are Michigan cast offs is not good.

Coaches don't really care about smoking it. Coaches care that if the NCAA catches them in a drug test then they are out for a year. Many schools also have suspension protocols for marijuana. A guy who can't abstain from it is a huge liability and there for "trouble".

Would you feel that way if Rutgers top players decide to transfer to Penn State or Ohio State? There are 113 other FBS programs he can transfer to. I don't see the problem with the rule.

I don't fear competition.

So at Temple he would have four to play four? Still advantage Temple.

Not a big loss for UM because they took like 5 WR last year and taking 4 WR this year. It only sucks for other teams that were the runner ups for him last year. But then again, with his "issues", seems like he is more of a liability waiting to happen.

He strikes me as the type of guy whose goal is the NFL in 3. So if that's the plan, then sit this year, play 2 and announce for the draft. Since he'll have to sit this year anyway, I doubt the year of eligibility will be a factor for him. I think he'll look for the program that positions him best three years from now. Whoever he chooses will have to have room for him in the 2016 class, though, because he has to get registered for fall classes to start the clock.

Don't think the Coaches see a problem with it either.
How many times have we heard a player being allowed to transfer but being told schools he won't be allowed to transfer to and that's not just schools in the same conference.

That said, I think that rule has been relaxed a bit, but not sure if it was.

Kid has never played a down of CFB but you're projecting what he is thinking regarding the NFL?

I think the rule is to protect the lower level teams in the Big 10 to make sure their best players don't leave to jump on the OSU or MSU wagon.
