Alston Scholarships were instituted a year or two ago to add to compensating college athletes in a suit by Mr Alston against the NcAA. In the case of RU wrestling, we could give up to $5985 a year to kids based on if they received a full scholarship down to the equivalent for a partial scholarship. Now the rule has changed to where everyone on the wrestling team (30 kids) can get a full $5985 a year if we raise the money. Here is a chance for us to step up and contribute which would be an incentive in recruiting future wrestlers if we can raise $180,000 a year. Contributions go directly to the RU Foundation do you would get credit for Priority Points. Let’s get it done. We will help you facilitate this if needed.
