An interesting re-tweet from Corey Sanders

You can't seriously believe that.

He has talent, but what did it translate in to?#311 out of 351 in offensive efficiency. He is the point guard. You can't discount that. Only 1 win. Is he a winner??? Is he about only getting his? How much does he care about how the TEAM is doing? I see him caring about Corey.

why is there so much hate directed at our best player in ages over a ****ing retweet? if he leaves its probably cause he realizes we have 1000 total fans and more than half of them seem to act like crackheads on a daily basis.

I don't see "hate," sorry, I see concern from a fan base which has the right to be as such. That's all.

i am fine if

Right now, if no one came back but we had a .500 win season. I would be fine with that. This program has to trend upwards, and that means doing whatever it takes.Start from 0 if Coach wants it. He has has success, and deserves to have no constraints put on him.

A .500 season with no one coming back....lets step back into reality

Let's get one thing straight. Our only B1G win was against Minnesota. Corey Sanders isn't that good. It isn't like we won half our games.

You are clueless or have an agenda if you think Sanders isnt that good. Lol

I know you watched the games how can you say that he did everything to win games but he had zero support

If you read the tweet from a certain player's parent, it says that macon and mcmullen arent coming back. The fact that Shoes wasnt mentioned implies he is coming back. Sorry to disappoint the clueless haters on this board

You dislike Sanders and want him to fail. We get it. Give it a rest.

I don't think people here are against Shoes coming back, at all, they just want it to be BECAUSE OUR NEW HC WANTS HIM HERE, that's all. No need for YOU to be calling people "clueless," either, buddy. SMH.

Eh. Collectively we're making too big a deal of this. I mean the tweet itself might not even have the meaning this thread suggests it does, yet, a lot of people are assigning more than a fair share of blame/using it to infer he doesn't care about Rutgers.

As much as we took a chance on Corey he took just as big a chance if not bigger on us. We're in this together. I'm surprised opinions don't align and that Corey is getting the short end of the support "stick".

There are some who on here who think that if Shoes is back its only to keep Sanders.

After watching the presser today I have confidence that Pikiell will not base his decision on this.

I can say what i want...especially if the Shoe fits. People here never give it a rest

Rutgers will go backwards FURTHER,without its most talented player next year,(if thats even possible to go lower),if SANDERS DOSENT COME BACK ..get a grip if you think 500 is possible without SANDERS,even if John Wooden appeared like a miracle on the RU bench

Well using that logic o Koren and dalip are back as well. I don't think so.

Let me know who the assistant is that is up for consideration.

If he is a known good recruiter, Shoes can give an extra pair to Corey to walk some place where Shoes likely won't be anyway.

If he is strong in other areas that isn't recruiting, then keep Shoes and Corey.

Former is better than latter. You can't have a freshman calling shots. It is a recipe for disaster and this is the time to get it right.

So the tweet is cryptic, the reason for the re-tweet is unknown, and we have 4 pages that consist mostly of people criticizing our best player in decades, and suggesting they don't care if he transfers.

Simply unreal. What a cesspool. A lot of the time I can't help but think Rutgers basketball fans get the Rutgers basketball program that they deserve.

"No Vetrone No Sanders"

That qualifies as "cryptic"?

How do you measure if he is selfish?assists! He had 4-5 a game. You dont have to like him, but facts are facts.

Indeed it does. There are ways to read that, other than to read it "If Vetrone gets fired by Rutgers I am transferring." So I think it is irresponsible for fans to make a 4 page thread mostly hurling insults at our best player, pretty much ever, challenging him to leave. I guess if he does transfer, that will confirm that he isn't a "Rutgers man" or some other nonsense.

In reality, if Corey leaves this program, Pikiell's likelihood of success here goes down by at least a third. He will then be in a total rebuild position (like EJ was) rather than a position where some of the pieces are in place. People need to realize this. You can't just keep blowing the thing up every 4 years.

Also, a lot of people here seem to be twitter illiterate. Re-tweet doesn't mean Sanders agrees, just that he is highlighting what someone else said. These are kids. Sometimes there reasoning for the re-tweet, or even what they are saying, isn't the clearest.

It's more that kids are life illiterate. There is a world that exists outside of twitter, and the actions of star athletes are amplified. Either EJ never had "the talk" about social media with the team, or the lesson never sank in - or Corey's just too immature to care. Look how much attention LeBron got just for unfollowing the Cavs... and he didn't even actually tweet anything.

Don't have an opinion on Vetrone one way or the other - and really, don't have any issue retaining Vetrone simply to keep Corey. That's Pikiell's decision. Corey, though, needs to be more aware that social media doesn't exist in a bubble with its own rules and that he needs to be more aware of what he puts out there.

The biggest fact is our record. he is the PG with the ball in his hands 30% of the team. No position influences the game more. Last year we weren't bad, we were historic BAD.

Corey has 20,000 followers on Twitter. They're not all his friends. It's 2016. Looking at what someone chooses to put on their public Twitter account is fair game.

And again, it's not a big deal. It's not like we have a game today. People sometimes miss flights.

he then tweeted he's good to miss two more flights this year...I think hes playing people...and that was at 504am..

If one can in fact re-tweet a message about oneself without additional comments and mean it as something other than an explicit endorsement, highlight, or re-emphasizing of the original message... Then yes, I am twitter illiterate.

Also why is his twitter profile picture him in a Georgetown jersey with his number on it ?? Does he even care about repping the school he plays for ?
