An interesting re-tweet from Corey Sanders

I sense that Corey likes it here at Rutgers. He wants to keep his favorite coach. He's all worked up over his situation. A sit down with the new coach will put this to bed quickly. I would not be surprised if he is running the point at RU next year and going to class. Stay tuned. $$$$

So the tweet is cryptic, the reason for the re-tweet is unknown, and we have 4 pages that consist mostly of people criticizing our best player in decades, and suggesting they don't care if he transfers.

.

Not the least bit "cryptic" IMHO. Would you EVER re-tweet something you disagreed with without expressly stating as such in the re-tweet? I sure as hell wouldn't and neither would anyone else, yourself included, I'm quite sure. Sorry, but if he's going to be the outspoken person he has always been, on social media, I'm quite sure that he understands and accepts the fact people have been, are, and always will be, critical of him AS WELL AS complimentary of him. Many of the same people love what this young man has done on the court, and with his social media skills, but are just a little upset about this tweet and it's their right to be as such.

Well, as others have said, it could mean the Sanders wouldn't be who he is today without Vetrone. Or it could mean if not for Vetrone, Sanders wouldn't be at RU. Neither of those imply that if Vetrone leaves, Sanders leaves.

Even if that is what he meant, he is a young guy, and losing all of his current coaches is something he fears. Big deal. Fans should be reassuring of how much we want him to be here, and how he should give the new coaches a chance. Instead, everyone turns right around and says "Well F*ck you then...go ahead and transfer." People have been hurt so much by this team that they have these crazy reactions to every bit of news. Even if he was saying he would leave if Vetrone was fired, keep in mind it is the reaction of a 19 year old, who probably just needs some time to cool off.

I agree that you or I wouldn't send that tweet. But I am all grown up, and an attorney who thinks ten times over about anything I say in public (except on here sometimes, lol). We all wish that these kids were more mature, and considered every tweet and how it will be interpreted by fans and media carefully, but that is never going to happen. This is likely a difficult time for Corey, who is our best player and someone who we all should be supporting, rooting for, and encouraging to stay. The tenor of this thread is alarming to say the least. I simply cannot understand how or why people react this way.

Well thought out and said!

If Sanders is anything but 100 percent behind this going forward, he should leave and no one should be sad about him leaving. That said, I hope he is 100 percent behind the process with or without Vetrone and stays.
