Announcers Northwestern/GA Tech Talking Highly of Pike

Announcers just ranted about RU and how great of a coach pike is and how hes gonna be the guy to take RU back to the tourney. Love this kind of recognition for pike, cant wait to see how we close out the 2019 class, I think we take 1 4-year guy and a grad transfer after Duke imo transfers

Mention at tOSU game too. Actually made a point about how much Rutgers has working against it compared to BIG peers (uphill battle). Talked about St. John’s vs the RAC noting the RAC was kind of loud - all I could think was these teems won’t know what hit them when RU is really hitting its stride. Small gym (compared to monsterous 15k seat arena) with packed partisan crowd of NJ’s finest will knock their socks off.

Occasionally yes, but they spent much more time talking up Miami, that is when they were actually talking about the game. They were unbelievable. They had an announcers dream, a good close game in which every possession was important and half the time they were talking about, well, anything that popped into their heads. They were awful.

Wait. I actually thought they talked us up plenty. Maybe Miami a bit more but Miami is supposedly the better team

If anything I wish they would have stopped talked about us, Miami or anything else other than the game which they often ignored

The difference is not a coincidence. ESPN has contracts with both the ACC and the B1G. So for the challenge, to be as fair as possible they presented each game in the respect of the home team. As our game was at Miami, it was presented as “ACC on ESPN”, similar to our games on BTN against non conference opponents, they don’t necessarily have to be fair or know all the stats about EMU, etc. The announcers were from I believe Syracuse and Miami. In contrast, the NW - GT game is in Evanston, so it’s broadcast as “B1G on ESPN”, and the announcers are both from B1G country and under contract of course to slightly talk up the conference/product they are assigned to.

Duke will see more time next year when Shaq graduates. McConnell might be the transfer candidate...we are adding two more talented guards to the rotation with Mulcahey and Young.

Pikiell is showing similarities to Greg. It’s becoming clear the industry see’s this as Pikiells program at Rutgers and puttibgvhis brand ahead of Rutgers brand. This is a crucial factor necessary for having success at Rutgers.
