Asbury Park

There are parts of NB that are unsafe and I think the cops generally don't care about keeping students safe.

That said, any grown man afraid to walk on Easton Ave is not a man (unless it's in a TTFP jersey on game day which I wouldn't be surprised at for board trolls).

He has also remarked that downtown Jersey City is unsafe when that is complete baloney and unless he lives in Alpine or Millburn or somewhere of that ilk, which I doubt, he likely lives somewhere that costs less so not sure what the elitist remark was in reference to.

Define "downtown Jersey City".

Usually defined at east of the extension, east of the tressel, or 07302 & 07310.

So then by your definition, the neighborhood in the immediate vicinity of Ferris H.S. is perfectly safe?

You're stretching your arguments a bit thin, here.

He also is paid to be here by Christie. Mostly, he seems like the kind of person who was angry when people left town to go to college and he stayed home afraid and angry at the world. Also he must be a wimp and twerp of serious order to be afraid to eat dinner on Easton Ave.
Love the Fulop fluffer! How is that city job going after getting booted from the private sector? Truly hilarious!

Cookman avenue is arguably one of the nicest "Main streets" in all of New Jersey. Architecture is outstanding. The restaurants are excellent and some have a New York Vibe. Lots of art galleries and small shops as well.

Agree 100%

Lots of better places than NB and closer, so why bother? And just to mention, the RAC and HPSS are not in NB, so we are good to go.

Can someone be this moronic? Avoids every town that has a history of violence? Man, the exaggerations some people will state just to try to back up their original (idiotic) narrative.

ASBURY PARK – The massive, concrete eyesore that has blighted the city’s waterfront for nearly a decade could be developed at last.

iStar Financial, which has led the revival of Asbury Park since its arrival in 2010, unveiled plans to build a 16-story tower comprised of condos, a hotel, retail spaces and a parking garage at the Esperanza site.

The new development, slated to be one of tallest buildings on the Jersey Shore, will represent a potential $178 million investment in the city of Asbury Park, according to iStar’s proposal.

more evidence that AP is on the rise, and iStar is doing a fantastic job.

East of there yeah. That is right on the extension, so west not so much though that is changing.

Has anyone been to the beergarden? How is the food and the beer

The spray park is ridiculously overpriced. I think it's $10 per kid. Every other town in Monmouth County has a free spray park, but for some reason the consultants that built that thing figured people would pay for it in Asbury.

As far as kid friendly restaurants: last year my 9 year old got nachos off the "kids menu" at a restaurant on the boardwalk. The idiot who put them together cut up jalapenos & mixed them into the cheese whiz. Luckily I noticed it before the kid started eating them.

No, Asbury isn't kid friendly. You're better off going to Seven Presidents in Long Branch.

Thank Jesus. Who would want jalapenos on nachos?
