Ash to Coach tOSU Bowl Game

The OP can't possibly be this dumb. You have no idea of what's involved in the situation. There are like 100's of variables at play.

Yet Narduzzi coached MSU in the 2015 Cotton Bowl AFTER accepting the PItt job.

Do some research before an idiotic post. Narduzzi accepted the Pitt job on December 26th 2014..... 5 days before the Cotton Bowl and decided to stay on. Ash is accepting his first Head Coaching job 4 weeks before OSU Bowl game. He should be at RU now.

This is exactly what I was saying above expecting him to be here exclusively for the next week and a half or so. Here's what Nick Saban said about Smart and UGA. From coachingsearch ticker site.

Georgia: Nick Saban says Kirby Smart will spend the next week or so at Georgia before returning to Alabama for bowl prep. This likely means up to the mid-December recruiting dead period.

Hobbs, Ok I get it you have a job. You're making what $650,000 right, well here is $2million to say your goodbyes and report to work on Monday. I think most would say their goodbyes to management and good luck with that special project. My co worker here who has shared responsibilities in my department with me can take over from here on out.

It is not all about money - if Ash clearly stated he had a professional commitment that felt he needed to honor, Hobbs & Barchi would either decide that they were OK with that - or they could move on to another candidate. If Ash made a commitment - and is keeping it - that says a lot.

Hey , most of us know plum street is smarter than most people on this board . But plum shouldn't be smarter than Hobbs.
Hobbs should have said : 'Chris you're my guy . If you want this job , you start full time tomorrow ' .
It's not rocket science folks .

Have you started increasing the volume of posts under other screen names in case this one gets banned?

How do you know what was said? Do you know what's going to happen? Give it a rest and wait and see what the announcement is tomorrow. I'm sure someone will ask why are you still going to coach for Ohio St. in the bowl game if that's the case. It's a fair question if true and see if his answer makes sense to you. Give it a rest until tomorrow, you guys have this mob mentality, I think unless there was some sort of controversy, you guys aren't going to be happy.

Nobody on this board knows what kind of commitment he made and/or is being held to. Yet you are telling him what he should do? Or that Hobbs made a a mistake? The height of ignorance. Not that it would make any difference if some of you knew the terms, as I swear half the people here don't know what a commitment is. Please give it a rest.

Like I promised Laviano he would be the starter, so I needed o honor that every game?

Another stupid comment from the King of Negative comments. Other examples of coaches staying has been given, nobody knows all the details and this clown is calling it a Rutgers screw up.

I guess everyone is ignoring the fact the Urban Meyer asks for and gets a full 2 year commitment from all his assistants.

He is our coach now not working for Meyer

Go back to defending Eddie...oops

Biggest concern with this decision is that it leaves much doubt that Ash truly understands what he is up against recruiting in this state. He cannot afford to waste a second getting players here and screwing up the first year or two will seal his fate - If I were him I would be spending every second in the living room of every possible big time recruit in NJ - wearing a RU hat at the Rose Bowl - while nice - won't get it done here.

Yeah and think what quality of person Brian Kelly is. Just saying

Has been a big winner every college he's been at. That's why ND pays him a lot. Why schools that pay little and afraid to speak up, are usually losers.

Stupid or senile? lol,

I support Rutgers sports....I don't go from board to board just to post negative comments...clueless comments. If that makes me a bad person....so be it.

Well I know pellini did it as Lsu . But that was for a national championship . Hobbs just made a questionable hire and then let this transpire . Terrible , but par for the course at ru
Every hire is a questionable hire. ....just saying

Apples and oranges. Coaching in a bowl game is not a vacation. (Where did Shea go after RU first hired him, anyway?)

The guy is a jellyfish if he doesn't think he should be on the job immediately. Spineless.

Kirby Smart is coaching in the playoffs...
Ash is coaching in a glorified exhibition ga me that will be forgotten the moment it ends.

so instead of addressing and debating my point which is not negative, its actually opinion, you personally attack me as usual

You guys are just Plain insane...... Threads like this are why I am never on this board anymore.

There can be 100 things that prevent him from starting on day one

The first that comes to mind is. ..... HE IS UNDER A 2 YEAR CONTRACT WITH OSU.
He would likely face financial repercussions if he left early.

Besides I would almost prefer he stays there and gets in Larry Johnson Sr's ear about being the DC here. Getting him would be huge for recruiting.

This is much less of a deal than you guys are making it. Many coaches have doen this and it is not at all unusual.

Since we are comparing this to the business world. If I tell my current employer that I'm going to work for a competitor, I'll be shown the door pronto by my current employer.
