Here are my predictions for the B1G for week 1 of the season:

Michigan vs. Utah - Utah
TCU vs. Minnesota - TCU
MSU vs WMU - MSU
Kent State vs. Illinois - Illinois
Illinois State vs. Iowa - Iowa
Richmond vs. Maryland - MD
NSU vs RU - RU
Stanford vs Northwestern - Stanford
BYU vs. Nebraska - BYU
ttfp vs. Temple - ttfp
S. Illinois vs. Indiana - Indiana
Wisconsin vs. Alabama - Alabama
Purdue vs. Marshall - Marshall
tOSU s. VTech - tOSU

The B1G will go 8-6, this week. Granted there are some big question marks, some of which have come up recently (i.e. Kent State vs. Illinois, Wisconsin vs. Alabama). But, I think that this is how the conference will finish up. Your thoughts?

I would loooooove if Michigan lost, just to see if some of the Harbaugh hype would fade...

Nebraska's at home. I think whichever team was the home team wins that one.

Yeah - but that coaching change (in my opinion) just makes it so iffy. If that was Pellini coaching the team, I think Nebraska would be a lock.

With the Coaching turmoil at Illinois don't be surprised if Kent St. wins.

Even if they got blown out I don't think it would fade. Most think it's going to be a rebuild and that the results won't be immediate. If in 2-3 years you aren't seeing marked improvement then I think you'd see some of the hype fade.

I said in the other thread, I think that a rebuild is probably a fair prediction but I wouldn't rule out a 7 win or so season. They don't have an easy schedule either. UNLV/Utah/BYU/Oregon State and Minnesota is one of the crossover games.

As to the picks, I'm sure some bias in me with these picks but oh well.

Michigan vs. Utah - Michigan
TCU vs. Minnesota - TCU (rooting hard for Minnesota, they really need to control tempo of this game and not let it get out of control)

MSU vs WMU - MSU
Kent State vs. Illinois - Illinois
Illinois State vs. Iowa - Iowa
Richmond vs. Maryland - MD
NSU vs RU - RU
Stanford vs Northwestern - Stanford
BYU vs. Nebraska - Nebraska
ttfp vs. Temple - ttfp
S. Illinois vs. Indiana - Indiana

Wisconsin vs. Alabama - Alabama (again rooting hard for Wisconsin, new coach but Chryst is a familiar name, maybe they can rattle whoever the new Alabama QB is, they took it to LSU last year before some defensive injuries hopefully they can do so again)

Purdue vs. Marshall - Marshall
tOSU s. VTech - tOSU

TTUN vs. Utah - Utah
TCU vs. Minnesota - TCU
MSU vs WMU - MSU
Kent State vs. Illinois - Illinois
Illinois State vs. Iowa - Iowa
Richmond vs. Maryland - MD
NSU vs RU - RU
Stanford vs Northwestern - Stanford
BYU vs. Nebraska - Nebraska
PSU vs. Temple - PSU
S. Illinois vs. Indiana - Indiana
Wisconsin vs. Alabama - Alabama
Purdue vs. Marshall - Purdue
OSU s. VT - OSU

Michigan vs. Utah - Utah
TCU vs. Minnesota - Minnesota
MSU vs WMU - MSU
Kent State vs. Illinois - Kent State
Illinois State vs. Iowa - Iowa
Richmond vs. Maryland - Richmond
NSU vs RU - RUTGERS
Stanford vs Northwestern - Stanford
BYU vs. Nebraska - BYU
ttfp vs. Temple - Temple
S. Illinois vs. Indiana - Indiana
Wisconsin vs. Alabama - Alabama
Purdue vs. Marshall - Marshall
tOSU s. VTech - Ohio State

Michigan vs. Utah - Utah
TCU vs. Minnesota - TCU
MSU vs WMU - MSU
Kent State vs. Illinois - Illinois
Illinois State vs. Iowa - Iowa
Richmond vs. Maryland - Maryland
NSU vs RU - Rutgers
Stanford vs Northwestern - Stanford
BYU vs. Nebraska - Nebraska
PSU vs. Temple - PSU
S. Illinois vs. Indiana - Indiana
Wisconsin vs. Alabama - Alabama
Purdue vs. Marshall - Marshall
OSU s. VTech - OSU

9-5 for the week.

Nosoj - you and I are very close, except that you chose Nebraska over BYU.

I think the changes in coaching situations will cause Nebraska some problems out of the gate. I would say the same about Wisky, but I think that they're in over their head too (even if Saban can't decide which of his 5 QB's should be the starter). Illinois could possibly rally as a team and get by a decent Kent State team. But, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't.

I'll stick with my 8-6 prediction -- which is kinda' sad, considering that I'm picking the B1G will go 1-5 against P5 teams (and independents), this weekend.

I wouldn't be surprised if you're right. With Taysom Hill back BYU could be a tough out for anyone on their schedule. I think if Nebraska hired a first time coach they'd have more problems. I think Riley will have them in decent shape though.

I wouldn't be surprised if that or a number of games went the other way, either positively for the conference (Michigan, believe it or not Purdue) or negatively (Illinois is a dumpster fire, Temple really could pull the upset).

Big 10 winners: RU, OSU, Team From Pennsyltucky, Big Red Machine, UMd, Iowa, Sparty
