BACATOLOGY: 3/3 NCAA TOURNAMENT ANALYSIS UPDATE****RUTGERS PROJECTED 10 SEED****

You obviously see fans blaming the refs for losses all the time, but blaming a call from an entirely different game is a new one for me lol
Tell that to Duke this year after ACC acknowledged blown ref call led to the loss @ Virginia in OT almost lost their next game at home to a bad ND team 68-64 where the effort wasn't there. Or the dozens or hundreds or thousands of untrackable blown ref calls deciding games leading to losses or less than stellar efforts in their next game for decades in HS, college, or NBA because of the reminder that you lost your last game to something out of your control and some guy in a striped shirt affected that outcome. Players are human not a video game on tv or a simulation.

I'd tell them all the same thing. If a team plays poorly because they couldn't turn the page from the prior game, that's 100% on them. Blame the players, blame the coach, but to actually blame the prior game itself is a ridiculous excuse. Teams take tough losses, even from bad calls, and then bounce back with a great effort in their next game plenty of times as well.

we shouldnt feel good....4 Q3 losses is a bad look as is the 312 non conference sos.....Pikiell needs to schedule better. this isnt even up for debate, every bracketologists says so, its glaring
OOC schedule might finally bite us in the ass…and you know it won’t change until then, if at all.

and people keep arguing against by saying we are making it every year even though it sucks..yeah but one year it might bite us

the reality is we are losing games to mediocrity every year no matter what so we might as well lose to a top 20 team

Southern Miss, 1-seed in Sun Belt, out in quarters
last year we got pushed to first 4 because of Richmond and other surprises in conf tourneys (though should have been Michigan)

Sun Belt is a sole bid conference, but yes it’s time to make sure not too many bid stealers

Most of the P6 conferences will schedule about 50% of their OOC schedule Q3/4, because most of their conference games are Q1/Q2/Q3 games.

20 games Q1/2/3, 11 total OOC, 5-6 Q1/2/3, 6-5 Q3/4
18 games Q1 2 3, 13 total OOC, 6-7 Q1/2/3, 7-6 Q3/4

The two flaws in the way Pike does it, he picks average teams in really bad conferences like the NEC, Patriot, AE, because he has relationships with the coaches or bad teams from mid major conferences, like MAAC, Colonial, Ivy, that he probably has a relationships with.

This year is a bad year to schedule that way and probably going forward now.

no Big 12 none below 75

It is amazing when teams are falling out of a Quads in P6s that they find wins to stay in their Quads.

Southern Miss is in the Sun Belt, not C-USA. They are 1-0 in Q1 with a NET of 83. I don't see them as a serious at large bid stealing contender.

WVU could conceivably lose their spot if Texas Tech or Oklahoma State beats them on the way to a deep Big 12 tournament run

Yeah im always uber conservative so if 18-14 they certainly could sonehow still drop down to first four..i tend to think that because sos and overall net so strong they probably are safely above

Smfh at Oklahoma though

Not a full update but here is where we stand going into the weekend. There are 32 AQs (automatic qualifiers from each conference). * denotes projected AQ. Note Pitt is projected as an AQ currently but are an absolute bubble school. Everyone is locked into down to the 2nd 9 seed. There are 12 spots open and about 22 schools still competing.

No H in fifteen.. good stuff

BTW.. is it known what seed play in what locations? I see you had orlando as 4-13 and 5-12... is that a given or a guess?

WVU is in at 18-13, 6-12, 5-1, 1-0, 6-0, 11-13, 12-13
Q1/2 11-13 is a pretty solid mark for 24 games out of 31, the lack of Q3 wins will drop them in seed.

A 1st rd Big 12 loss (18-14) 6-13, 5-1 or 6-12, 5-2. will still get them in 11-14, 25 out of 32, 12-14, no blemishes, just a slightly lower seed.

Providence seeding will be interesting

Their resume consists of 3 home wins over Marquette, Creighton, and Connecticut. They have only 6q1/2 wins and a horrible non conference sos. If shu moves to q2 tgen 6-9 vs q1/2 with just 1q3 loss or if they dont its 6-8 with 2 Q2 losses

If the lose their first BE game which might be vs nova or Shu wouldn't be surprised to see them an 11 seed or even all the way down to first four

SHU is locked in as 7 seed vs 10 seed DePaul
Nova is locked as 6 seed vs 11 seed G'town
Butler and St John 8-9

if Creighton loses at Depaul and UConn wins @ Nova,
3 way tie(13-7) between Creighton(13-6), Prov(13-7), UConn(12-7) for seeds 3-5.
UConn 1-1 vs Prov and Creighton
Prov/Creighton 1-1
Creighton can't get 2nd, but can lock in UConn vs Prov quarters with a win.

Marquette(17-3) has 3 losses, Xavier, Prov, UConn, (Creighton 5th) 0-2
Xavier(14-5) has 5 losses, Dep, Creighton, Butler, Marq, Nova
Game vs Butler, 2-0 vs UConn and Prov.

UConn and Prov might go 6th seed and lower in tiebreaker for 3rd and 4th, or 4th and 5th if Creighton loses and UConn wins.

I cannot watch the Duke game because I am incapable of rooting for Duke. I’m afraid I would convulse into seizures.

If Merrimack wins their semifinal game (currently up on Sacred Heart), then FDU will be playing St Francis for the Northeast Conference AQ tonight as Merrimack is inelligble for postseason play.

Nevada's gonna survive. We're certainly not backing our way into the dance.
