The only players I could make out from the middle of section 131 were Grant and Rettig, and only because there is more red/salmon/orange space on the jersey since 1 is a narrow number. Maybe a couple of you somehow are able to read the numbers, but obviously if this many people including seemingly every broadcast crew can't read them, there is something wrong. I can read the numbers on fans wearing the old style jerseys sitting on the other side of the field, but I can't read the numbers of the players who are much closer.

Really wish we went back to these for home games. Our current home jerseys make us look like a CUSA or MAC team.
Well Cali, since I previously stated that I'll go along with you and defer to the players (having no mind of my own) Do you really think the players would care, and you for that matter if the unis stayed the same and a readable border on the numbers was
added, if for no other reason than to help the fans know who's in the game, are the fans and season ticket holders that irrelevant?

I have no idea who played Norfolk yesterday. People knew who Alabama, Wisconsin, Texas and ND were and their alumni are proud to associate with them.

I'm open to a revamp but the current ones suck and look like CUSA as someone mentioned. Go back to the 06s and maybe introduce a flashy alternate that looks nothing like the current unis.

As far as the numbers, I have no idea why Rutgers can't change the color of their numbers since the TV guys were complaining about them. Florida State went from Gold to Garnet numbers on their white jerseys after ONE GAME. They also changed Hawaiis number colors from gray to white on their whites back in the Colt Brennan days. Plus out of the hundreds of new unis that Nike have changed over the years, Rutgers have been the only team that seemed to go one colored unis while everyone else could mix up their unis. So it's not it hasn't been done before.
We had those unis before we became a Nike sponsored school for every sport. That means we had no juice. When GS got here we started the relationship but it didn't get cemented until years later with the blanket contract. We kept the old style stock generic uniforms ( some mild tweaks) and then had these customized and developed after that.

We are also on 107 near the top. There's only one number you can make out: 1. No problem reading 1 or 11. Everything else is impossible to read.

I'm someone who isn't a fan of the current color scheme on the red jerseys, and even I think the 2006 uniforms were generic and bland. Manalapan high school wears them. Not at all distinguishable. The white road unis were just flat out bad.
The most recent "classic" red top, white bottom, were nice, using the official Rutgers logotype to good effect.
38 around seat 20. Also moved down to the fake Vejai's seats in 107/row 30ish and had the same issue.
Agree. Keep the uniforms if the kids like them. Just tweak the number design. I'm in section 125 row 17, my eyes are just fine, and I can't read the numbers for anything. Put them in red tutus if you want, just make the numbers legible.

I admit that I struggle to read the numbers sometimes. If this can be fixed with a white line around them, fine. But there is no way I want to go back to the old uniforms. Right now, Rutgers is the only team in the B1G that has a solid red uniform. I'd rather struggle with the numbers than have the rest of the country struggle trying to tell what team is playing. Who's that red team? Is it Wisconsin? Nebraska? Ohio State?
Some people are just lucky I guess.
Their must be some scientific reason you're able to see the numbers perfectly while the majority of us struggle. I wonder what it is?
I am of the school of just put some white around the numbers so we can see and I am fine with the uniforms. Plus what was said above, I like that we have distingiushed ourselves from Indiana, Wisconsin, OSU, Nebraska, etc. Finally, I chuckle at the suggestion that the 2006 uniforms were anything great. They were themselves a change from our traditional uniforms. I much prefered when we looked like the St. Louis Football Cardinals or Kansas City Chiefs rather than the ugly Texas A&M or Michigan State rip offs, who needed to distinguish themselves from their big Texas and Michigan brothers.
